Hill had a fantastic year in 2013. He tore it up in 2012 too the second half of the season. The Ware/Ford combo worked well in 2011 and Ridley was a beast in 2010. The myth that Miles doesn't like to have a feature back in absolutely ridiculous. Get on board the Buga Pain Train now, because he's about to have a huge season.

I think he will for sure....

but not enough touches to garner a Heisman invite.

Me, it's so hard to predict that kind of thing. You never know what his numbers will look like in comparison to other players. Not to mention running backs are almost never going to win it.

He'll have all the exposure he needs though. If the team can become a championship contender he has a shot.

Currently 12/1 on Bovada to win the Heisman. I spent my $ on Seth Russell at 33/1.

Of course if you want to piss $ away Braxton is 10/1

Mark Ingram won the Heisman with 19.36 carries per game in 2009.

Fournette got 14.38 carries per game last year, as a freshman. Hilliard and Magee combined for 16.8 carries per game.

Without two seniors in front of him, do you realistically believe that Fournette will not get at least 19.36 carries per game this year? Bear in mind that the last time the "starter" at runningback also held seniority he got 19.16 carries per game, Stevan Ridley in 2010.

When has Miles ever given a single back the requisite amount of touches to make a heisman a reality?

LSU hasn't entered the season with a Heisman candidate since Kevin Faulk. Mathieu didn't start to get all his hype until midway through the season. It took Patrick Peterson several games as well. I agree Fournette may be a longshot because of the lack of carries, but we haven't had preseason candidate like this in almost 20 years

i care more about Fournette staying healthy and winning games than him winning a Heisman.

if that means giving the other RBs some touches than so be it

LSU didn't dial it up. It didn't even get going till halfway through the season and it wasn't because of anything LSU was doing

Who was giving TM all the time for interviews? Who put him in at PR?

The fact that LF is going to Media Days shows LM knows what's up

Simmons is a definite, and Lange is very likely at this point. Fournette would be if NFL teams weren't so scared of drafting running backs high

Fournette WILL be a top 5 pick. There hasn't been a talent like that since AP. He's a bruiser, a speedster, and a third down back in one package - great hands and great vision with great character.

They thought the same thing about Trent Richardson...

But Fournette will be succesful, I have no doubt.

Great back, Richardson. No where near as good as Fournette. In 50 years no one will remember Richardson. Fournette will never be forgotten. He will be in the conversation for best back ever.

It has nothing to do with being scared....Running backs like LF just aren't as big a part of NFL game plans as they used to be.........

I know, facts suck.

Just like the FACT that Charles Scott had over 100 yards in the 1st half against UK in 2007 and only had like 3 touches in the 2nd half...Don't give me that crap of him riding the hot back...It helped cost us the Ole Miss game in 2013 cause he yanked Hill after a fumble... If he leaves Hill in they very well could have won that game.

You don't know how the trophy thing works... LF can run for 1650 and 20 tds and still not get invited to NY. You have to have the hype and PR by the university. LSU has never really hyped a player no matter how good he was. LF is a beast and will do fine.BUT Les will Not work him to death... Its just how Les works.... I really don't care how many yards LF gets..I WANT WINS...The Bowl game showed that one player will win a game for ya.........

A guy by the name of Jeremy Hill rings a bell... ran for 1400 yards and 16 touchdowns while being suspended for the first two games. Had he not been suspended for the first two it's entirely possible that he could have garnered heisman attention.

Hill was only suspended for one game. He came into the lineup as the fourth RB and had to wait his turn for carries. By 3rd or 4th game he was back to #1 on Depth chart but still split carries all season.

He could go from 1034 to 1600 and have a fabulous year but that's not getting you to New York

I believe Mark Ingram won the Heisman back in '09 with around 1600 yards. He did have like 17 TDs though.

You are correct, this has never happened (that I've seen), and based on Miles' "style/schtick/make up/innerds/chest/guts" - whatever it is that makes a man do what he do - I do not see an LSU player ever winning the Heisman trophy. It's almost as if Miles thinks that an adequate and effective Heisman campaign and true, unabashed teamwork are mutually exclusive.

TM was, in my opinion, "the nation's most outstanding college football player" his last year at LSU. Some of the things he did were beyond comparison or theretofore unseen. I've said this before here - I really thought it was luck and coincidence - Until I saw your boy start doing this stuff WHEN IT WAS PREDICTABLE. I don't remember Miles going apeshit over his Heisman campaign.
