So reports are that Miles said Haley referred Steele as DC and spoke highly about him.

Then we choose Steele and Miles demotes him to "intern"

Yall think he knew about Chavis and kept it hush hush and broke Miles Circle of trust?

I think we got a better coach and had to move him somewhere. Pretty simple.

Yeah, it's odd, Brick goes from DC candidate to being demoted?

There's something decomposing in a Scandinavian country, and I can smell it clear over here...

I don't think so. They said he never interviewed or anything.

It's more than that it seems.

Miles had some pretty pointed comments about Brick during his press conference.

The implication was that Brick wanted to move on...and it sure seemed like Miles wasn't happy about the situation (disloyal).

Maybe its temporary until an additional coaching position is allowed by the NCAA in the coming months and he was promised a new, improved/lateral role.

But I like your tells of deception and punishment way more.

Miles viewed Chavis' departure as an opportunity. Period. Our d line has underperformed and Brick is partly accountable for that.

I just got the vibe from Les's nonverbals and delivery of info that Brick did something to cross him.

We've all come to know Les as a consumate professional in regards to his coaches.........WHICH MAKES THE CHAVIS thing even more weird.

Pretty sure miles meant an interim position, not an intern position

He may have even said interim, and people just hear what they want to hear (didn't see the presser, so not sure about this)

Maybe so............But he also used the line "he is free to do whatever he choses." and then he did this

Brick Haley is going to Texas A&M. They haven't finalized everything and I'm sure Sumlin wants to time this perfectly (with recruiting purposes and whatnot). Miles was put on the spot and searching for words...intern was the one he used for Brick. Brick isn't demoted nor is he an intern. I highly doubt he is even doing anything in an employee capacity for LSU.

From what Ive read and her from 104.5...(i know not the most qualified source on this) people seem to think Miles really did mean intern. Seems as though Brick definitely pissed of the hat.

But we got O and Steele on the recruiting trail already so as far as Im concerned Go Luck to ya Brick where ever you end up thanks for the hard work.

I think it's one if two things. Either Les is holding on to Brick until the SEC allows an additional assistant coach next year, or Les is trying to prevent Brick from going to an SEC rival, at least until this recruiting season is over. Maybe the buyout gets waived after signing day.

He most certainly said intern. And I believe someone linked to somewhere on the LSU site that he was listed as an administrative intern.

This was no slip of the tongue
