I'm Not Ready to Give Up on the Season After 1 Game
Posted by Patrick_Bateman on 9/4/16 at 1:07 pm2221
Yesterday was a bad loss. Terrible. And people are rightfully upset about it.
But it's not the end of our season. This is the same team that - two days ago - we thought had a chance at the national championship. The players are still the same. We have the talent to win every game on our schedule if we play to our potential. One game at a time. All our goals are still attainable.
The players have worked too hard to be hearing from fans how the season's over, after only 1 game. Don't give up on these guys yet.

What did you see from either LSU or Bama yesterday that gave you any hope whatsoever of winning the west?

Agreed that the players are still the same. Unfortunately, the coaches are the same, too.

Right, then reality smacked us in the face.

I can buy that the players can do it. However, we have a retard for a head coach, a piss poor offensive staff and the worst special teams coach. The players can't coach themselves

Shut up. Projecting the 5-6 losses is very reasonable and likely for this team.

Absolutely the players should be supported. The problem is they depend on the coaches to prepare them. How can you have any faith that this staff will have them prepared for Bama, Florida, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Auburn and A&M?

I saw absolutely nothing yesterday from LSU's offense (or special teams, for that matter) that gives me any source of optimism for this year. Simply put, for years this LSU team has not been fun to watch. I was a rabid LSU fan, and Les Miles has completely lost me.

There will be plenty more opportunities to give up as the season plays out.

Yesterday? Not much. But I'm not basing an entire season's outlook on one game. I think our guys can and will play much better than they did yesterday.

No. Those of us who have been paying attention thought we had the talent to win it but were afraid Les would be the limiting factor.
We were proven correct. What we saw last year and yesterday is what this team is and will be as long as Les is in charge.
Given that, for anyine who had aspirations of an SEC and national championship, the season is over.
The only thing left to see is weather the team completely folds or if they do just enough that it allows F King not to fire Miles.

Once again, our defense will have to carry the burden the whole year for the offense. F*cking pathetic with all of this talent. The defense will keep us in games, no doubt. But we will win close games we have no business winning, much like yesterdays game.

les has already had multiple teams fold up shop

We ?
No ... there is a large (and now larger) group of people who have paid attention the last 5 years that knew we zero shot at sniffing such an accomplishment.

I'm not giving up on the season either... LSU will win some games this year... But we will not be in the playoff or BCS picture... It'll be another Texas Bowl type year.

Will Guice get carries after his fumble?

You mean like last year when they quit in the 4th quarter be Bama and folded against Arkansas and Ole Miss only to wake up a little bit in order send Mikes off with a win in what should have been his last game.

I get you're trying to be positive. I really do.
I've been critical of Miles in the past; I also appreciate what he has done. But, the last few years he has not done a good job. When his team was not competitive in November, he should've been let go. When he got his reprieve and made some good hires, I was cautiously optimistic.
What we saw yesterday is unacceptable... he has done nothing to fix the problems of the past and seems to have actually create more. The game has past him by and he will not do anything to change.
He must go.
