As long as it's not for a medical reason. I played golf with a guy years ago who ate a bunch of apples during the round because he was diabetic. He ended up making a good living on the tour, Scott Verplank.
I'm not sure how many apples the TCU coach ate, but seemed like a bunch.

I think if we get up by enough, Manieri, Cannizaro, and Dunn should play a game of horse shoe. It was very disrespectful to LSU and the game of baseball in general to pull out an apple and go to town on it during the game. BYE BYE TCU, BYE BYE motherfrickers!!

I love how our fan base thinks this was malicious or was done in any way to slight our team in that game. That coach has eaten an apple in every game so far. It would honestly be a dick move on our part and would be embarrassing if our coach/fans would do this thinking they were actually "sticking it to him", when in reality we would really just look like fricking idiots.

It isn't the apple that should be bulletin board material, its the smug, "like a boss" expression on his face AS he is eating his apple....
