to the FU game will be the real barometer game.

I'm not worried about this game, at all.
Even bad LSU teams take care of business vs. MSU.
Derrius Guice's longest run this season is 25 yards.
I bet he doubles that on a run in this game.
I also expect Arden Key to make a big splash too.
We will be 3-0 at the final whistle.

I personally feel like Mississippi State is better than Florida this year. I'm not saying that they're a Juggernaut, I just don't have much respect for Florida.

The "barometer", and for the foreseeable future, is Alabama. 11-1 with a loss to Bama doesn't win the West.

LSU is the ONLY SEC program that gives Bama concern (whether they admit it or not). Want to sit on top of the mountain? Beat them. They are the " barometer".

Their offense is much better. Defense, while good, isn't quite as good as Florida's.

I think UF is a lop sided team, what they have that is good, is good but State has a full package

Narrative Shmarrative. We need to go at least 11-1 and beat Bama. Then, we are where we want to be.

This is what irks me. LSU had to try to lose both the 2012 & 2014 games vs Bama, and thanks to Chavis, they did.

Lately it seems, and last year's game clearly shows it, that LSU has an ingrained attitude of defeat (particularly on offense) when facing the Tide.

The narrative will be that MSU isn't good and that we are still untested.

Frick Florida has an exceptional defense, without doubt. Their offense is a dumpster fire in a train wreck. MSU is far more balanced, overall. LSU will get MSUs best effort. As long as our Tigers show up focused, sharp and hungry, they should win handily. If any of our young players get rattled early and can't compose themselves, it's gonna be a long night...

So, when we destroy everyone, the narrative will be, LSU is GOD.

Mississippi State is 2-0 so the game has more hype to it. Missisisppi State probably isn't all that good. If we played them in November when they have 4 losses this game would be just another crap game.

How do you know the miss state defense is good? Jbh. They beat two bad teams? They were terrible last year...suddenly they are that good? Yes, they have a few good players, but that doesn't make a great defense.

100% agree. People are just blinded by state beating 2 bad teams.

Before the BYU game, I was told that it was going to be tough and LSU could lose if they didn't play a perfect game. After the game, I was told that BYU is a really bad team and LSU should have won by 75 points.

Ya'll can enjoy worrying about your barometer. I'm going to enjoy LSU winning all of the games leading up to the Bama game.
