If none of the spring sports win an SEC championship...

...and baseball probably is the only one with a real chance to do so (one tends to doubt that Mainieri's young pitchers will be ready early enough to allow for it), then come this summer it will be three full academic years since LSU has won a conference championship in any sport.
Baseball in 2012 was the last regular season championship this program won.
If you're OK with this, congratulations. If not, maybe it's time to stop giving our athletic director raises and start thinking about who his replacement should be.

Any year in which LSU fails to win an SEC championship in any sport, the AD should be fired for hiring bad head coaches. The head coaches of all of those sports should be fired for hiring bad assistant coaches.
That would send a message. Win or be gone.

As pathetic as that is, it does make me wonder how Ole Miss fans can keep going on. They've gone decades at a time without an SEC title in any sport. I can't even imagine that.
And this is not a "let's count our blessings" post. It's absolutely inexcusable that LSU could go three years without an SEC title in any sport. Heads should roll.

And just what message would that send to other potential ADs exactly?
Athletic Director is like hiring a CEO. It's an exhausting position to fill, has a huge lead team and is a lot more complicated than putting out a posting on Craigslist. It's also something that's predicated on a lot more than individual championships, like revenue, facility expansion, graduation rate and NCAA compliance. All four of which ain't hurtin...
Joe hasn't moved mountains at LSU, but he's addressing his primary role.

And who of us has any control over that? The AD will be here as long as keeps kicking back so much money to the academic side of the university. You're simply wasting your breath.

Yea man, that 2013 baseball season was a train wreck. We didn't win the SEC championship, so that negates our total wins in a season record right? Same with basketball last year having arguably their best team since 2009, and signing the number 1 recruit in the country for next year. Or women's basketball making back to back sweet 16s, or gymnastics making back to back super 6s.

I think baseball is in good hands IMHO. Les is going to be here for a while unless he goes willingly. I don't know much about basketball but JJ seems to be recruiting well. Who would have thought John Brady would have been more successful than the last two coaches?

I guess you missed baseball's championship in 2014.
Regular season champ doesn't mean as much as post season champ in baseball. Well all sports, it helps when it comes to post season placement but they only give a trophy to the team that wins the tournament.
