11-2 overall with a SEC championship under our belt. Do we get into the playoff? Or does a 11-1 Alabama sneak in in front of us

Probably depends on the manner in which we beat alabama.

Depends on how teams ahead do. If we beat bama on a last second field goal, I believe they would still put then in the playoffs and leave LSU out

We would definitely get in over Bama, it would be Houston or Louisville that could knock us out. All signs point to the ACC, Big 10, and Pac 10 being represented.

Just to elaborate, it'd be hard for 2-loss team to get in over undefeated Houston with wins over Oklahoma and Louisville. If Louisville beats Houston, it'd be close between us and them at 11-1 with wins over Florida State and Houston and their only loss being last minute on the road to the number 2 team in the country.

There is not a world where the REC/Birmingham/SEC HQ will allow the SEC Champion to not be represented in the playoffs.

I've been debating starting a new thread, but I know it wouldn't go over well...

But from an expectations standpoint, I think we almost played too well, if that's even possible.

Going 600+ just put the expecatations or even the "ifs" way too high.

I'm fairly certain, win or lose, we'll see 2-3 more games this season minimum where our offense looks stuck in the mud.

I'm not sure they have much pull with the committee, but our '01 3-loss championship team wouldn't have sniffed a 4-team playoff.

I could agree with you there but that was prior to the SEC train we all did on the rest of the world.

You best believe we have that kind of pull.

SABAN has that kind of pull.

Maybe? I don't know. Louisville could easily grab that spot if they run the table (assuming Clemson goes undefeated). Things get kind of iffy because of the Big 10 (Ohio State, Michigan, and Nebraska are undefeated; Wisconsin, our loss, only has one loss). So, we would need Ohio State or Michigan to just demolish their schedule and hope the rest of the Big 10 just goes all cannibal.

People, it is cool to enjoy an offensive output like last week, but it was MISSOURI! Mellow the hell out and enjoy LSU football for a while now that it seems we will be able to again.

Depends on how other conferences finish.

5 P5 teams or 1 G5 team that is above the norm
4 spots
Somebody is left out and that wont be a 1 loss team. It's possible but there would have to be another conference with a 2 loss team THEN it would still depend on who they lost to and how that team that beat them finished.

Take Bama out right now and it would be
Ohio State
Clemson
Houston
Washington

with Miami, Tennessee, A&M, Nebraska, Baylor etc. all unbeaten and I cant find sure fire losses for any of those teams on the sched. I dont think the committee would vote in unbeaten baylor for political reasons. Miami or Nebraska may be the cinderella this year. Nebraska has wiscy and Ohio State left but they could split those two and win the Big 10.
Miami's toughest game left is Florida friggin State or UNC whom georgia beat. No way they lose more than one and it would be an upset if they did that.

Yes. We make the playoff at 11-2 and an SEC title IF there aren't 4 undefeated teams over us.

Louisville plays Houston. If Louisville beats Houston, Houston will fall pretty far given the rest of their schedule (I imagine).

Miami? If you look at their schedule there are a few games they have good chances of losing.

If Tennessee loses to Alabama, that's one loss. If LSU runs the table that means they beat Tennessee in the SECCG.

I don't think Baylor goes undefeated and their problem is their OOC schedule (again). It will more than likely come back to bite them in the arse again.

Really, the only uncertainty is what happens in the Big 10 and the ACC. Louisville could easily get one of the spots.

I keep asking myself this. There's a lot of football left.

What a Cinderella story this would be though.

A 1 loss Louisville who only lost to undefeated Clemson will get in before us, or if the only loss for either Ohio State/Mich is to the loser of that game, then they will get in before us too.
