If Harris is average we win the title. Heisman will just be the garnish on top.

Melvin Gordon rushed for 2000 yards last year, broke Ladanian Tomlinson's single game rushing record... and didn't win the Heisman.

No. I'm sorry my friends, but fournette won't win the heisman at all. The backfield is too talented to not spread the ball around. I would rather have 2-3 backs go first round to early second round and have long careers because they were distributed the ball evenly than one guy be ridden into the dirt and win the heisman.

ETA: I'm locked in for the amount of down votes I'll receive

I don't see how. Everything was complicated for him last season having to learn a new system and all fresh out of HS. If they don't complicate things for these kids and just let them play football by making the offense simpler they should be alright. Harris should be really good! Let him fire quick passes to what should be wide open receivers and let him take off running when no one is open or on designed runs.

The ONLY way LF has any remote chance of winning is if LSU is one of the top 4 teams at the end of the season, irregardless of QB play.

Unless there is a QB that is truly special, the Heisman is awarded to the best player on the best team, even if that guy probably isn't the best player in the nation.

Melvin Gordon rushed for nearly 2600 yards last year and didn't win it. The Heisman is now a QB award, 13 of the last 15 winners have been QBs.

Frankly I want LSU to win games period. I don't care about individual trophies. If Leonard or anyone else wins them that is fine, but winning games as a team is more important.

Yeah because 22-23 carries a game and a Heisman trophy would ruin LF's chances of longevity in the NFL.

Name the last running back under miles to average 23 carries a game

Let's ask Leonard what he thinks about the matter...

Oh I'm not saying he will. At ALL. I wish he would though.

Not only does a position player have to do really well to win the Heisman, it has to be a really down year for QB's imo. Unfortunately the Heisman seems to be just a qb's award. 1 non qb in the last 15 years if you don't count Reggie. I don't really remember off hand what the QB field looked like in 2009 when Ingram won it.

If he has 2000+ yards rushing, a couple hundred more receiving to go with some receptions he takes to the house, and some high profile TD returns... It could possibly happen.

ETA: For a running back to win it, I think the returns would be the key.

You forgot the requisite goal-line tackle to preserve a win.
