IF game can't be played...

in Columbia, what about something like this:
Play in BR. Establish relief fund for families that didn't have flood insurance and got washed out of their homes. Going to be a brutal time for those folks, and a lot of LSU fans know what it's like to get water in their home and have to fight insurance companies. These people are going to need financial relief from somewhere.
You give gate to the relief fund, charge $100 per ticket...$10,000,000 right there.
Then you set up the typical donation centers on campus during gameday, advertise during the game for a Go Fund Me type account that people can donate to during the game from their phones (if they can get service in the dead zone of Tiger Stadium). TV can post it, etc. Estimate another $10 million, who knows how much we raise.
Concessions/ads/parking cover cost for LSU, probably some profit there.
Yes, it gives LSU an unfair advantage, but does the SEC really want the game at a neutral site with 15K people in attendance? Playing at LSU and raising a ton of money for the people in South Carolina seems more logical.
Obviously, this is based on the assumption that Columbia isn't viable for a game this weekend. If so, would probably be a good boost for the city.

Well the panthers do have a bye week so they can play in Charlotte.

Play it in the dome with free entry. Free MRE's and water bottles for all.

While it may sound like a nice gesture, that is a lot more to it then you scenario takes into account.
Mainly expenses.
Also advertisement and television are usually set up months in advance...

Can also be played in Chapel Hill or Raleigh, lots of places are available if they are proactive about it. However, football is probably not on the minds of many folks over there right now.

Maybe $10-25 ticket, but its a good idea.
Have to consider the cost of the NFL site, but for the same reasons, NFL should consider comping the stadium b/c of the disaster.

Playing one's home game on an opponent's field is not unprecedented. Remember LSU's victory over Arizona State in 2005. Officially recorded as a "home" game for the Tigers, even though it was played out there.

I like it. Since this was your idea, you get the ball rolling on it. Call me if you need some help with cooking hotdogs or something. I'm a mean wienie cook.

Great thread, I guess it was too hard to post this in one of the other 5 threads discussing this.

NFL doesn't own the stadiums. Would be up to the individual owners to make that decision.

Sounds like a good idea.

Certainly LSU could sell out a normal SEC game price.

Not sure if serious, but you are showing prices of tickets for a game in flooded Columbia....I'm talking about moving the game to BR and selling tickets through LSU for the game in Tiger Stadium...and then donating money to a relief fund to help out the community.
