Would he have been named the interim coach this past season instead of Orgeron? Seems like it would have been tough to pass him over.

Honestly yes. And given how things have played out, how could anyone assume he wouldn't be the head coach now.

Not even close. I'll never understand the people that think Frank Wilson could have been the next head coach. Even next OC.

Umm.. no? Why do you think they picked O? Because he drinks a lot of red bull? I doubt it. It was probably because he was the only one with head coaching experience...
That wouldn't be different had Frank still been on staff.

I'm not saying that Frank won't be back one day. He very well might be. But they definitely made the right choice for interim.. Beyond that..... YTBD

I didn't ask if he'd be named the head coach,I asked if he would have been the interim. Big difference. Water under the bridge now, but maybe Alleva ran him off cause to clear the way to name O interim with no debate.

There would not have been a debate. O was carried off the field at USC and his interim tag was tied to his name for good. O was made for that type of position. If anyone would have gotten it instead of O it would have been Aranda.

Would have certainly been the interim OC over Ensminger.

Give the guy some credit. Led UTSA to their first bowl game in program history. (although they've only been FBS a few years.)

I love Frank Wilson. I think he's a heck of a coach. But his only head coaching experience was in high school. He was picked up in college so he could recruit New Orleans. He coached RB basically his entire career because he was just a recruiter. He hadn't proven anything to warrant the LSU job over others already in staff. I'm happy as hell for his success right now though.

No. CoachO was to be the hc at LSU the day he joined the staff.

Imagine the support he would have had from the players.

No chance. Ensminger has called plays in the SEC. Frank has never been OC
