LSU will have a heck of a chance to win the West in 2014.

All we really need BH to do for LSU this season is be able to keep the Defenses honest by completing the short pass, and just not lose games for us.

You've got a great OL, run the hell out of the ball, pass just enough so that Defenses have to respect the threat, and rely on your defense...

Herb Tyler was a good QB as a freshman because he was able to keep it that simple, and I hope BH turns out to be the same way.

Just my thought, and damn I'm ready for Aug. 30th!

Herb didn't throw for more than 10 TDs until his senior season. No way we're winning the West like that this season.

If Brandon could throw 8 or 9 td at home I think we could sweep at home. Zach threw 12 all season in 2012. (Albeit with Studrawa as OC).

I wouldn't say we have a "heck of a chance", but I think we will be competitive in every game. Our passing game will definitely take a step back but overall the talent level is there for a very good season.

Or you know, Anthony Jennings. The only guy we've seen play.

Whoever CC thinks is the right choice to play QB for LSU is the one I like.

I have a question.

Harris has an absolute cannon for an arm and his football IQ is solid.

What makes you think cam will only let him throw short passes/manage a game. The only "game managing" him or Jennings need to do it with their feet. Aside from that, let them be comfortable in the system.

The kid has a really bright future, but my fear is that if we try to put too much on him as a true freshman, or let him put too much on himself, then there's a big risk that you could end up destroying his confidence if he folds under the pressure.

But what the heck to I know, I'm just another fan that's ready for football season to get here....

I love what herb tyler was for LSU football, but he can only dream of having the same natural talent as brandon harris. This kid is special.

If this is true, this year, we'll be ok. Would expect more next year.

This is key. I pray it's close to being true. I've actually convinced myself it's true.

Herb was decent but because he came at a point where we had been so terrible for so long, his greatness is inflated. He had a solid career though and was actually surrounded by great talent which made him better.

If our receivers can help out either QB and not kill drives with dropped passes or lazy routes, we can win the SEC. But you'll have to rely on the defense in a few games and they need to step up when needed.

I thought we called college players "Freshman" and NFL players "Rookies"

So a guy who hasn't played a college game, who may not even play this year, is LSU's chance to win the SEC West?

This is the year to break in a new QB because so many other teams in the SEC have the same question mark. So many teams have inexperience at the position then if you have an injury it's even more inexperience. The teams that make the fewest mistakes and can run the football will have that advantage

Would only disagree with the short pass part. That will not be enough to get teams from crowding the line. You need to stretch the field just a bit to keep the D honest.
Can't wait for the badgers!
