He shouldn't. But will he? As someone else said in a different thread LSUs issues with winning championships is an administrative issue not coaching.

If Aranda leaves, we should burn the stadium down.

The AD doesn't get fired until things are really, really bad.

He doesn't deserve to. He based this hire on O keeping A+ coordinators. Which is a shaky proposition long term at best. My only fear is he isn't being held accountable by higher up in the Admin and by the boosters.

Probably. He shouldn't have made it through the weekend so no reason to think anyone is going to come to their senses just by losing a coordinator.

I had a thread up that got whacked saying keeping Aranda and hiring Kiffin is Coach O's first big test. If he strikes out on both it will not be good. If he gets both we are in good shape. And don't forget, Tom Herman has been vetting LSU through Aranda all year knowing this opening would probably happen. Did Herman like what he saw through Aranda's eyes?

Herman: "Howdy, ole roomie ... how ya been?

Aranda: "OK, I guess."

Herman: "How'd the Bama game go?"

Aranda: "We held the bastards to 10 points and fricking lost ... so, you tell me?"

Herman: "Ha ha ha ... figures. How is it otherwise?"

Aranda: "Well, they fired Miles ... and, now, I'm stuck with this human version of Shrek that runs around shirtless challenging everyone to a fight ... and, since I can't even understand one fricking word he grunts, I just stare at him ... so, he just kinda pinches his nipples, yells 'Wild Boyz' and walks off ... very weird, man."

Herman: "Want to kick some arse at Texas?"

Aranda: "Sounding better every day, I tell ya...especially since it looks like the Ogre Man is here to stay."

I don't know much about Aranda ... but with Miles now O ... on the sideline, Aranda always seemed to have a look like "What the frick am I doing here?"

Hell ... Aranda is more qualified than O...and Aranda damn sure knows it.

WHy would things change.

We are at a 10 year low point in every sport(except softball), we just hired a career DL coach to coach our cornerstone program, we fired a winning coach mid season to do so, but TAF was pumped up by a 20 million dollar donation last year...so money will keep him around, that is the only reason. And I don't deny it is his most important roll.

Unfortunately, his performance measures don't align with the fanbases benchmarks for his success.

I highly doubt they have spoken during the season.

Don't run with the angle that they are best friends, they were just roommates for Gods sake, for all we know Aranda got tired of Herman slobbery kisses everyday and requested a new roommate. Or Herman just leaves his socks everywhere or watches TV. Aranda is a cyborg, he just studies alignments 24 hours a day since he was 3.

Alleva is gone regardless as soon as the Coach O experiment falls apart.

Aranda leaving just makes that happen sooner rather than later

His fate should be sealed already.

The search was a complete failure. You can't let him lead another coaching search. So, you've got to go find another AD now.

Like when all of your athletic programs are competitively weaker than they were when you took over, and the only hire you made that worked out is Softball? And even the softball hire was one he was forced into because the guy he wanted and announced before the deal was done backed out.

Not baseball. We're at or around our 10 year average.
