If LSU wins every game they're favored in, this would mean we only drop one game this season to Alabama .. We would end up 11-1 in the regular season ... IF Alabama loses to FSU and @Auburn (very likely) this would mean they would be 10-2 and be going to the SEC championship (assuming Auburn dropped another game in the league) ... In turn, there would be SEC Champion Alabama (11-2) and LSU (11-1) ... Do both teams go to the playoff , or only one? If only one, which one goes? I could see a similar situation occurring in the SEC this year to what happened last year in the big 10 with Penn State/Ohio State... Very interesting but what do y'all think

LSU would miss out. Big ten and acc champs are certs. It'd be tough to beat out two other conference championship game winners. Particularly if it's usc and oklahoma.

Barring mayhem

I think bama beating FSU gives us a better shot at 11-1.

If UF beats UM, AU beats Clemson, and UA beats FSU then one loss SEC runner up gets in IMO.

LSU would go over Bama.

Think about if like this, if LSU was good enough to win 11 games then they likely only lose a close one to Bama @ Bama. Bama will still have 2 losses no matter if they win the championship.

However in reality Bama will be 13-0 or 12-1 and hopefully LSU can get to a 10-2 record.

I think Bama would go and LSU would be left out. The play off committee would say Ba won the SEC. They will completely forget and ignore what happen last year with Penn State and Ohio St. if it comes to Bama league championship will carry a lot of weight.

That's cute that you think bama would be passed up by LSU

Exactly. The BCS and now the playoff committee have both shown that blue blood status will make them flip flop their positions on conference championships. 2011 for the BCS (2003 too with Oklahoma) and last year with the CFP

Question, why is it a given we are going to lose to Alabama, and beat Auburn, but its VERY LIKELY Auburn beats Alabama?

Your logic seems flawed.

If we lose to Bama, Auburn, and UF that's just like last year (5-3).

I think regardless of what happens with Bama and FSU, it comes down to how LSU plays Bama.

If it's a blow out, they are left out. No one wants to see a potential rematch with two teams when the first game wasn't entertaining. If it's a close game, I think you see both Bama and LSU make the playoff.

Remember, it's a committee voting these teams in, so it has a lot to do with the optics of a season.

Dear Lord baby Jesus please let this happen with LSU getting a rematch in the CFP. It would be legendary level justice to hear Saban try to answer media questions about having to play an extra game before they play us in a rematch in the CFP.

In all seriousness I just want to beat them in November but this scenario would be fun.

I don't think there is any doubt that the playoff committee got it right last year. If a team loses big like Penn State did to Michigan, they don't deserve to play for the title.

Just like if a team loses when they are favored by 4 TDS like Oklahoma State did in 2011. LSU and Alabama were by far the best two teams in 2011.

Ohio State got credit for going to Oklahoma and pounding them which they should have gotten credit.

I want the best teams to be in the playoffs!!!

Very.

If you think TPTB will pass up a recent five time NC winner or participant in the big game, you must be drunk.
