This will be my last post on TD this season. To all the pumpers, the obese, gap-toothed AL fan on You Tube predicted the final score to be 38-14, Alabama. He was much maligned by all of us, but apparently he is more knowledgeable about the game than the vast majority of the pumpers.
Having Mettenberger contine to drop back passing when the game was out of reach and knowing that AL DL and LBs were going to tee off on him was pathetic and quite frankly a risk of losing our starting QB for the rest of the season.I will never forget the scene of Mettenberger crawling toward the sideline after the last sack. When he threw his helmet, I believe he was angry that the coaches placed him in such a sitaution. But I also respect the fact that he had the fortitude to walk off the field.
The announcer knew that AL was going to fake a punt, but apparently our coaching staff was clueless. The half time adjustments by AL were apparent in the second half.
In closing, as long as Miles is our coach and Saban is AL, LSU football will be good, but declining and we can forget about contending for championships. Please, Texas, hire him

Your 94 post will be greatly missed. Chicken probably gonna email you to beg you to stay. This site needs 94 more post from you to stay afloat.

Obviously you didn't listen to the post game with Saban. The fake was designed for a defense in punt safety formation. We originally were not and bama was going to punt, but they called timeout because they took to long to recognize and make a decision. We adjusted and came out in punt safety and they ran the fake punt designed to take the free man from the middle of the field the wrong side and reverse it so he had no chance. They just needed to seal the edge long enough and ....wa la....1st down. Smart play and a lot more going on then you thought I bet.
Mettenberger was pissed because he kept getting hit and he wanted to make a statement. Mett has been nothing short of thankful to the coaches and everything they have done for him. We really should have punted at the end there.
The half time adjustment was to run it down our throat. Nothing complicated. They stuck with man coverage and stuffed the run as soon as the 1st drive of the game ended. We should have been burning them with beckham and landry. To be honest, Bama plays a very simple game plan, but they execute it very well. Their scheme on defense is certainly complicated in disguising blitzes and coverages and put a lot of guys in one on one situations....to cover....to tackle. They don't change much, but when your players are that good at knowing their responsibilities and executing them, it all takes care of itself.

Good post --- sensible and intelligent about the fact that we were NOT horrible - we simply lost to a talented and well-coached team that made virtually no mistakes ... and we made a few critical mistakes that added up to an LSU loss.
It happens --- we'll win our share, last night just wasn't one of them.
