No it turns out LSU wasn't loyal to him. He wanted a salary that is guaranteed for more than any given 6 month period. Given what he has done that is not unreasonable. I think LSU was the one with loyalty issues here.

The same bullshite clause that is the norm for assistants and is likely in 99% of other assistants contracts? What makes Chavis so special that HE should be any different?!?

He will be coaching against his former team for the next few years... that is the antithesis of classy or honorable. Sure, he did what was best for him, at the detriment of those who he developed deep relationships with.

Saban left to go to an NFL job. Chavis is going to a dumpster fire division rival with like a 20% chance of fielding a competent defense in the next 2 years because he wants to get paid to sit on his fat arse, just in case.

No you can't blame Chavis. He got a better offer at a school that has a competent offense. If you're pissed, blame LSU for not matching A&M's offer.
