No he's right. Les recognized the problem and told Steele to find a job

I don't think that's the case.

If I recall, I believe Steele's brother is an Asst AD at Auburn. Probably did very well on a Package.

It fits the way in which Miles normally fires someone. Rather than fire them on the spot he basically tells them to find a job and supports them on their way out. That's how he did it with Peveto and several others. Hard to tell. I think it was somewhat mutual.

Les loved Steele. Auburn bailed him out of his poor decision.

Because no fricking way the problem could be Miles' antiquated offense.

LSU ranked 32nd in yards per play, defensively in 2015.
LSU ranked 16th in yards per play, offensively in 2015.

Look at that 11' defense though! Talk about a wasted year.

I don't think Miles let him go; I think Miles knowingly hired Steele on a 1yr contract because Saban was going to fire him anyways. LSU just so happened to lose Chavis And LSU offered Steele stability/safety for 1yr; His job would be determined/evaluated based on his coaching and statistical performance. Obviously, Steele didn't cut it with our talent and once again another job opened up for safety; but this time it was a much larger security blanket being that his family has ties at Auburn. Good luck to him.

what a misleading stat. we got CRUSHED in 3 straight games, didn't even compete for our division title and this stat says we were the 16th best offense in the country? that's unmitigated bull shite. this is why stats are for losers.

if you are ever in the business world I hope you don't make decisions based on skewed, distorted, out of context and nonsituational statistics such as this.

I agree that the defense was not that good. However, the word was that LSU made a counter offer in order to try to keep Steele. That would not have happened if Mikes told him to find a job.

Are you saying that the defense outplayed the offense in those games?

LSU's offense had a weakness against teams with a good front 7. That weakness became worse due to a couple of injuries.

But that weakness didn't exist against the majority of the schedule...and wouldn't have existed against the very large majority of teams in the country.

So we don't play down to our competition? Which misnomer is dying?
