All of that plus the fact that they over looked Mississippi State.

i think this game was the best thing that happened to them....Hopefully they were so embarrassed that they step up and not let it happen again... maybe puts a fire under them to get better and dominate there next opponents

All of this either led to or is a result of:

OL can't block & D Line got blown off the ball. Oversimplified? Maybe, but NOTHING else matters if this is happening. Ever.

From Guilbeau's article linked in the OP:

"Orgeron’s yearly salary will be about $3.5 million, which means LSU will save $1 million the coaching swap between Orgeron and Miles. And Orgeron can throw a large salary at Alabama offensive coordinator and old USC buddy Lane Kiffin, who makes $1.4 million at Alabama. LSU now has a lot of money left over. It does not owe Orgeron a buyout."

Is there an actual buyout or just the $12MM guaranteed based on annual salary over the tenure, with the total payout depreciating over the tenure?

History will show that the Orgeron hire was a mistake. Hate that, but LSU needs better horses.

This is from CBSSports in March

quote:

The Advocate was able to get Orgeron’s contract details earlier this week, and there are quite a few surprises in there. First of all, Orgeron will make $3.5 million per year over the course of the five-year deal. That’s a lot of money compared to most coaches in the country, but it’s actually on the lower end of SEC salaries.

Of the 14 coaches in the SEC, the only three that will make less per year than Orgeron are Will Muschamp at South Carolina ($3 million), Derek Mason at Vanderbilt ($2.6 million) and Missouri’s Barry Odom ($2.35 million). Orgeron’s salary is the lowest of any coach in his division.

Where Orgeron makes up for that number, aside from the possible $1.5 million in incentives, is the contract buyout.

Orgeron’s buyout following the 2017 season is $12 million, and that number will drop to $8.5 million in 2018, $6 million in 2019 and $4.5 million in 2020. That’s some job security, and it’s a bit surprising.

Another thing i am noticing is every article i look at is saying its a 5 year deal,I thought it was three.

Didn't the fans overlook State as well. Maybe the team has been spending too much time on the Rant.

Coach O is over 50 years old now.

IMO he just isn't a good HC.
We fix that. We fix LSU.

If you have $12 Million laying around, that would go a long way to fixing the problem.

I only see 3 players who left early who would make a difference this year:

Adams, LF, and Godchaux..

Dupre was never a difference maker.

White, Riley, Beckwith, and Pocic were all seniors.

Somebody needs to get him back on Red Bull. Team performed better when he was chugging them things. They might make him slightly less slow.

Is this contract not public? or would it just reflect the base state salary?
