I think a lot of people may be undervaluing our defensive talent next year.

Young, but really talented. And don't forget Lamin Barrow had a 100 tackle season. He'll move to the middle and be the rock.

Will there be a drop off and a gelling period? Probably. But they'll still be in the upper echelon of SEC defenses.

No way the talent on this team only wins 8 games.

...now, as for that offensive play calling and gameday management...

The defense slips to top 20 or 25. Still respectable. The offense is inconsistent again and doesn't finish in top 60. Les is not making any changes till we lose 3-4 next year.

I'm not worried abou the talent as much as I'm worried about the experience, maturity, the schedule and the offense making the defense stay on the field for 40 minutes.

It's not a matter of whether we have talent or not. But we replaces a ton of defensive STARTERS. Maybe 3 or 4 FIRST ROUND PICKS. There will almost certainly be a drop of in quality of defense and no one has faith in our offense to pick up the slack as long as Les Miles is in charge.

Also, we play a brutal schedule. At Georgia, at Bama, A&M may be able to get the better of a weaker defense, throw in Florida who is always tough

totally agree about the D. when is the last time we were really strong at linebackers? I really feel you build around good linebacker play. Not to mention Loston will be the leader and he or Blue should eear 18 plus the Jalens can only get better from here.

D line will be solid with freak, rasco ego and people forget about mickey johnson. dude is good.

The offense will impress people. People forget that the O line should be much better now that 3 first time starters have a year under them. Along with plenty of talented depth coming in. Faulk hopefully holding down the blind side. That along with our established stable of running backs and with a more experienced Mett. The receivers should be significantly better now that the team will have some big body threats.

I'm not worried about our defense. Even with so many starters leaving, we have some insane talent on the team. Both on offense and defense.

What I'm concerned with is more of the offensive play calling. We have the same game plan for every freaking game, minus the Bama game.

Idaho, North Texas, Towson, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas...... all of these games should've been blowouts yet we made them way closer than they ever should've been.

We play down to them because they're not as talented, having an off year, what have you. I'm sick of it. Be nice to them when you're up 42-3 in the 4th.

When the defense is on the field for 3/4 of the game, there's a problem on offense. I don't understand why that light doesn't come on with Miles. And I really like the guy.

Another poster said it perfectly: "Saban is never satisfied. Miles is satisfied with the offense."

And that's 100% true. Play the Alabama game plan every game. Or crap, the A&M one.

grrrrrrrrr

Things never said about LSU. I admire your high hopes. But until LSU actually puts a top 50 offense on the field, you shouldn't make those assumptions. It's really quite sad that LSU with the top recruits we pull into the best conference would strive to become the 50th ranked offense.

Hence why I when I mentioned it as a caveat to still having a ton of talent.

Well we were hoping Quantavious Leslie as an early enrollee, but now he won't even get here till the fall. Goodness, who can't make a 2.0 in a JUCO???

We will still be good on defense, but not as good.

Which concerns me since the defense has made up for a lack of offense in recent years.

Next year we need the offense to step up more than ever.

And they'll all be starters next season? Or will we start Beckham, Landry, Boone and Wright .. all 6'2" or under?

I think Avery Johnson is pretty tall. Don't remember his exact height.

Jeremy Hill tweeted yesterday that he's looking forward to rooming with him next season.

Oh, I know. None of that was directed to you personally. Just venting, I guess.
