It's WAYYY too early to tell about next year. You could potentially return 4 starters. (I'm counting Blakeney as a starter). It all depends on TQ and Blakeney coming back. Blakeney is on zero mock draft boards right now while Tim is only on half of them and the highest have Tim projected as a mid 2nd rounder.
Well if Simmons comes back I will be happy and surprised as hell. Most likely not though. So that gets your potential four down to three. Blakeney has only been a part time starter. So even if TQ comes back it only changes what I said by one starter.

I think that the team is coming around this year so that is why I went with next year. This year's team will make the tournament and hopefully advance to at least the sweet 16. That will only raise expectations for next year with the "you are a failure if you don't get a national championship crowd".

So if next year's team underachieves which could well happen with so many new and not as talented pieces to put in place, a lot of fans will be unhappy. Not me though. I love to see basketball played well regardless of the outcome and get mad when it isn't and criticize. But at the core I always support the team and the coach. I seek perfection but know that LSU basketball will never achieve it.

I will have to wait to see how good the two JUCO guys are before I make a decision about next year. Duop could help tremendously on defense because he is suppose to be a shot blocker.

Lets do this for fun lol. assuming Tim comes back and ben goes pro.

Tim
Tone
JP
Reath
Victor

Thats a decent starting 5. Tim could be the true alpha male on the team while tone could be the explosive scoring threat and Victor can eat down low. Idk about reath's offensive game but if he can defend and get boards that works and JP brings a smart upperclassmen who is a sharpshooter.

Off the bench you have a good offensive plug in, Epps, a scorer/defender in Jenkins and hopefully an improved sampson and elberto. Along with 3 freshman Mays, sims, Fr australian.

Not bad if the juco guys are ready to contribute imo.

But that is all speculation of course lol
