Respect isn't needed.
The only reason pre season rankings are important is if we lose one game against ATM or Bama, then win the SEC and are 3rd in the BCS while OSU and ND (just grabbed two teams from last year) are undefeated.
Then preseason rankings have more meaning.

Yes. show me a team that lost their bowl game, and I'll show you a team likely to be underrated in the next preseason poll. People WAY overrate bowl games. Aside from the BCS games, they are meaningless exhibitions. Fun, but they are terrible as weather vanes.

Preseason rankings take into account coaching abilities, and our coaching staff has consistently showed the ability to blow leads and play down to the competition.

Nothing wrong with bleacher report. They've come a long way and produce some legit articles. You look at the author, not the site. Thanks for posting.
