I know this may sound crazy but do you possibly start Hess tomorrow?

He will be used, most likely, anyway so why not start him and see if he can shut them down and give us 3-4 innings and allow us to get a lead. Gilbert pitched well but Hess seems ready for the pressure. I really hope our bats can get us 7+ runs though.

Not start but let him throw at least 3 innings.

7 won't be enough for me to feel comfortable. We need to put up double digits

For the people saying no can you elaborate? My feeling is I want him in the game when it's tied...not behind

I'm with you. I would like to explode and score 10+. If I had my way we score 10 in first 3 innings

I think if you're dead set on throwing him at least 3 innings, then go ahead and start him. Of the pitchers that can throw tomorrow, he's been your best as of late. Why not give him the 0-0 score rather than chance his work come in a game that you're already losing/have lost?

The argument for saving him towards the latter part of the game is that in the chance you're beating OSU, you can possibly save him altogether for big innings in the 2 out of 3.

So you would rather hope our staff can keep us in the game than use our best guy available while game is tied...why? Everyone says he will pitch. What if he comes in when we are down 3?

Only in late innings when batters are tired and can't catch up to his 98 MPH fastball and 90 MPH curve.

thanks for having some baseball sense. It amazes me how dumb most people are here about the game. Hell what if Hess is able to dominate and go 5-6 innings...better than not using your best pitcher when game is tied

So you want Hess wasting pitches staying warm in the pen? I will let you contemplate how dumb that is
