How do you get in shape that quick?

The Sixers, sources said, came away impressed by the 20 pounds of muscle Simmons is said to have added to his physique since the end of the college season and viewed the meeting as the start of "building a relationship" with the player they are strongly expected to select ahead of Duke's Brandon Ingram with the first pick next week.

Yes a growing 19 yr old who's finally forced to work out. Let's face it, at LSU he didn't do shot he didn't want to.

Sure. I mean he only led the team in just about every meaningful stat this past season, but I guess he didn't give a shite

I've never seen a guy get criticized by fans for both being too selfish and too unselfish at the same time ("he only cared about himself" vs. "he never took over any games")

Here's a secret, Johnny Jones could have a team of 5 McDonald's all Americans and find a way to underachieve. Hell, in a relatively weak SEC it took having two 1st team All SEC forwards (Mickey and Martin) and a buzzer beater at Arkansas for him to barely get into the NCAAT. But hey, lets continue to blame everything on the guy who:

A. Never wavered on coming to a mediocre LSU program despite the fact that every other powerhouse in the nation wanted him, and...

B. Put up a better overall stat line than any other LSU player in the last 20+ years.

How'd he do on the defensive end? Stats are stats but it was plainly obvious that he checked out the last 1/3 of the season.

What?

He is listen at 240 on LSU's website. Is he supposed to be 260 lbs now?

I honestly don't think size was his biggest downfall. The kid had all the skillset in the world, but he's just not an aggressive cat! I honestly blame his lack of aggression for our lack of success that JJ, and don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of JJ.

Considering the cancer of a player running the point and the window licker calling the plays, I didn't find those stats all that impressive.

"All" of them? He can't/won't shoot. Pretty big missing piece for a no. 1 pick.

A. you do understand that the ONLY reason he came to LSU was because his godfather was on staff. If David Patrick was anywhere else, Simmons wouldn't have given LSU a look.

B. Yes, his stat line looks great. But those stats were hollow. I rarely saw Simmons take over a game. Rarely saw him demand the ball and get a tough basket when we HAD to have it. Saw him pass up a game-winning shot against Marquette - even the announcers called him out. And then Dickie V called him out over and over again against Oklahoma, I believe. So yes, he got great stats because his athleticism gave him a clear advantage over most college players. But it won't be that way in the NBA.

I don't care what Ben Simmons stats were. He absolutely did not give a shite the last few weeks of the year. Im sure the other players got sick of the circus that surrounded him. I hope his personal camera crew did a good job on the draft documentary.

This is why we don't deserve big time recruits.

It's crazy how contradictory the criticism of Simmons is

It's physically impossible to put on 20lbs of muscle in 3 months

1. Why are you here if you don't care?
2. Tell that to Brandon Larson's face
3. Again, why are you here?
