Everyone needs to be a little less reactive about this debate (Jennings is our stater gtfoi). Make NO mistake, AJ played a great game. He and Dural clearly have great chemistry. But in substantially less playing time, I feel that Harris showed a lot more natural ability than AJ (arm strength, legs).

All in all both QBs were very capable of dismantling a little league team. I think that everyone should wait until SEC play comes around before were begin crowning one or the other. I think that AJ is obvi #1 on the depth chart right now, but once the real struggles begin, I could see the position battle start to heat up again.

I used to be on the Harris bandwagon (after watching the spring game and Iowa game), but I'm all on Jennings now.

Unless Jennings has a complete meltdown he is the starter with Harris seeing action in every game also. I don't see Jennings LOSING the starting position anytime soon.

Jennings looks pretty good. He was sharp last night.

Jennings has edged himself ahead of the pack slightly. He has that poise and an extra year experience than Harris. Miles will leave him in a good bit. It would take a lot IMHO for him to be pulled. I think this battle will be more competitive next year when Harris has a year under him.

Jennings is the starter and our qb.

I love Harris and he does have a ton of potential but even last night you could tell he was nervous and a having a hard time digesting the play book. His natural ability is special though.

Jennings has done everything asked of him and after a rough first half last week, has played nearly flawlessly. Harris is raw, but looks explosive. He could break one on any play with his legs or his arm. As long as they can manage the team chemistry aspect, it's a good problem to have.

You right. It would take and injury or seriously bad play followed by an heroic performance from Harris for Les to turn those tables.

Harris does look good and he will be great for us in the future. Right now though I feel is Jennings' time and he has looked pretty damn good so far.

Here's the simpler explanation:

Jennings is the QB until he loses it. Ergo, Harris will not take it from him, Harris will not play into a starting role. Jennings will have to be injured or suspended for Harris to get an opportunity to start.

Harris has more experience already than Jennings had all last year (not counting the bowl game.)

That's simply not true. And the fact that you try to discount the bowl game proves it.

We'll need both. Manzeil was knocked out last year. A running QB - or any kind - in the SEC who isn't a monster is a sitting duck.

I am so glad we now have mobile QBs. Changes the whole dynamic.

There is only one difference between the two right now; Jennings has more experience in the playbook. He is comfortable with the plays & the flow of the game. Harris is very green on the field, very talented but very green. AJ will be the #1 qb while BH gets some experience on the field & a better grasp of the playbook. Next Spring & Fall will be the true qb competition. AJ has skills but if BH comes along, his ceiling looks to be higher.

Your rebuttal makes no sense. Him discounting the bowl game proves his statement is false which discounts the bowl game? What?
