why not blame alleva?
needed DC+LB coach and coach willing to come with a staff in place and obviously not willing to pay enough to get a big name.
people thinking this is the end of miles wont be paying his huge buyout either.

dont get me wrong this is a shite hire but Alleva put LSU is an awful spot.
basically any DC named who didn't also coach LB's was a BS candidate. any name who would have required as much as Chavis is making was a BS name. anyone who wanted to bring anyone with them wasn't happening.
and Miles buyout in 16 is what? 15 million? good luck with that.
