I am worried about this radio hire.

This is the guy I wanted after hearing him and seeing the announced list of candidates. What scares me is something just isn't right. I can't recall so many LSU fans being behind and supportive of a hire by the LSU athletic dept. in my life time.

He has been told Jack Hunt is not #9 and has a great voice. His calls include passion and accurate descriptions of what was going on. I love Hawthorne but many times I heard him say "Yes! or "caught" or "they get him" with no clue how many yards the play yielded until the line up for the next play. In my opinion Jim should have always been a color analysts and not a play by play guy.

I mean, the bottom line is that nobody likes change. And this is a huge change for LSU fans.
That being said, from the moment LSU released the names and gave clips of each as a sample - I immediately could hear Blair being the new voice.
I'm actually impressed that the powers that be at LSU thought the same. And plus for him being 40.
