I am so sick

I am so sick of the "but the players love him" angle. Someone please name me the last "loved by the players" coach to win a N.C.
Saban is the best example of the antithesis of this thinking. On a personal level he is not particularly "liked" by either players, fans, administration or assistants. He expects EVERYONE around him to work at least as hard or harder than he does. (and that's nearly impossible). Everyone in/at/around that program endures his philosophy because, in the eyes of his players, they know that right now, he is their single best chance to win a championship and/or play at the next level. In the eyes of the administration, winning (especially national championships) puts arses in the seats and builds a unified and loyal fan base = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Ask any assistant whom has worked under him. Hs's a fricking task master, (some think the man never sleeps) but he gets results. Like it or not, winning, (especially championships) trumps "but the players love him" bullshite every freaking time.

The last "loved by the players" coach to win a NC was Larry Coker.
The difference is LSU does not have the stacked roster Miami had.
And look what has happened to Miami since Coker. This is where you guys are now.
LSU football has dark dark days ahead. Not being an a-hole, that's just the reality. Believe me, I know.

Is it okay to win championships AND be liked?

Seems like the ahole coaches are the elite ones right now
It's cool though we got another lovable figure head who isn't an x and o coach

Get off Sabans nuts. You don't need to be a co ck smoker to win. Coach O will lead us to several SEC championships. He's our coach. Have his back until shown otherwise

Les Miles won one 6 years after Coker. This whole thing is dumb as hell.

I'd like to hear from a Nebraska fan. This looks like our version of Callahan.

Today LSU was at a crossroads to move to become a sustained elite program or move the needle back toward mediocrity. We chose the later.
Under this leadership, we will not be elite.

Lol. Unbelievable
Some of you need to temper your expectations ASAP or you're going to be in for a lot of heartbreak. I'm not trolling, I'm just explaining to you the reality of your situation. I've watched this happen. This is comparable to Miami hiring Randy Shannon.

Jack are you trying to claim the 2016 LSU team is comparable to 2001 Miami? Is this a joke?

Coker was not loved...he was not gnored. He took over the best team in college football and won a NC by getting out of the way. Les did this as well until he read on the rant how great he was. It was at that point that started to "coach" and the rest is history. He would have been fired sooner had Chavis not fell into his lap. I bet Coker had a great winning percentage in Miami though. Oh, and a ring...don't forget that Coker has a ring.

Miami was a thug program without a fracking stadium on campus. It's also a freaking private school. Nothing about Miami is like baton rouge.

Aweeeeeeeeeeeee get over it.

I'm not on Saban's nuts. Just that right now, he happens to be the best example of what I'm trying to say. Players didn't really especially care for Coker at Miami. (and I personally know a couple who played under him). Yes, they really liked WINNING under him. Like I said before, winning hides lots of ugly scars.

How do I quote on this board?
Jimmy. Coker was hired because the players begged Shalala to hire him. He was loved by the players.

I am glad fans like you didn't get your way. You think your opinion and knowledge is better than those in the program (some of those who actually play the sport). No cares that you are sick.

I fail to see what any of that has to do with the fact that LSU hired a painter to build its next house
