His game does not translate well at all to the pros.

He's basically a 1 pitch pitcher. If that pitch doesn't project to the majors, there really isn't much to draft him on.

I don't think he has the velocity or secondary pitches for MLB teams to find interest

Injury history not good either, back issues this year.
Arm issues before he got to LSU and missed a year rehabbing.

My guess is some independent team will pick him up or he could sign a free agent deal with someone once season is over.

He'll still get picked up, unfortunately the modern lower rounds are used on flyers who probably won't sign.

He's he number 3 choice actually 4 now if you include Poche out of LSU's bullpen. Injuries and not great stuff is another reason.

I think he has become that pitcher that only should be in the game , when LSU is well ahead .

He throws generally fast ball strikes in end of game situations, which will either speed up the ending of the game or get him hammered. Perhaps he needed more variety to make it in the majors. But that's no shame. Dude has been clutch at LSU and should have picked up a good education as well. Over a lifetime the education is more valuable for 99.9% of Division I athletes. It's possible that he has maxed out on his abilities, and made the most of it.

Hell, I maxed out in my baseball abilities in the 9th grade. I still remember a couple of game winning hits and long run catches from Pony league. Hunter Newman's max out memories are 1000% more significant than mine.

I keep asking myself the same thing. I mean the dude has some serious talent.
