Also I'm sorry but Simmons does not impress me as being a player considered in the NBA draft after this season. Not one bit. So you'll be happy that he'll at least be at LSU another year after this one.

Since Gottfried took over, state has made 4/4 tournaments, finished with RIPs of 50, 54, 31, and 47, and finished 5th, 5th, 7th, and 7th in the conference.
So if State finishes with a 9-9 record and 7th in the conference, their RPI should be around 50 and will be a bubble team. I wouldnt write them off so easily.
eta: State plays in the ACC every year and is used to the schedule so it isnt as big of a deal
eta2: Before this inevitably gets sidetracked, my point is that this isnt going to be a loss that hurts LSU's chances in any way. State is a good program with a good coach. Both State and Marquette have a lot of bball history, even if Marquette was shitty last year

I think NC State has a great program right now. We're 0-2 against them, so they're better than us. This guy clearly doesn't follow College BBall, or he would no their program is trending in the right direction.

LSU's offense is much like a pickup game, so improvement is not forth coming.
That I agree with. Jones has never and will never have an efficient offense. They are currently 9th in the SEC in offensive efficiency despite having played the third worst schedule to date of any LSU team. They finished 8th in SEC offensive efficiency last season

Now that's just asinine. You may want to let NBA scouts know your evaluation because they have a COMPLETELY different opinion. He had a "horrible" game last night and STILL finished with a double-double. 14 rebounds and 10 Assists. He also had 3 steals and 3 blocks.

and what has he shown you that any good freshman player on any team could not have done so far. you are just drinking cool-aid. we don't even have to discuss his 1-6 FG's, and 4 pt. performance yesterday when he was shut the frick out of the game. Had he not played LSU very probably would have won in regulation.

Simmons needs to shoot when he has a shot instead of being an assist maniac. Quarterman can get only so hot.

No way. DId you see when State switched to zone to prevent Ben from driving with the ball and LSU knocked down about 4 threes in 6 possessions?

He's not that good. sorry. Be happy dood, he'll be back at LSU next season. maybe he'll improve by then.

This is their worst team they've had since Gottfried took over. I'm well aware of what they've done, what they've done doesnt relate to this year.

You're an idiot. He's the #1 overall pick come next year.

Nah, the team two years ago was worse.
If I had to rank them it would be:
2013
2015
2012
2016
2014
2014 was just TJ Warren, Ralston and a bunch of freshmen and a controversy over who should play PG
eta: This team has a chance to be better than 2012 depending on how Terry Henderson is when he comes back from injury and how Maverick develops

It doesn't matter how many games we lose, Simmons is gone after this year
Posted on 11/25/15 at 9:12 am to LsuTool
Oh yeah he's definitely gone. Dude put up a 20/20 game. Its just a shame to see Coach JJ not utilizing his talent like he should be. I get that Ben is a playmaker and is all about the team, but he has get some aggression about him.

that was 4 good possessions. what happened before and after that? LSU missed put back, after put back, all day long. I don't dislike the team, other than i've always thought jones coaches like he once played which is out of control.

How would you like him to be utilized?
Not really much JJ can do to change his aggressiveness. That will come with maturity. It is the way he's played his whole life and usually a split second decision.
Look at how long it took Lebron to change that mindset, and he's one of the best to ever play
We missed a ton of open shots from outside and good looks near the basket

Love this board
He's 6'10 with guard skills. Those players not only go top 5 (likely #1), they usually make the NBA HoF

This is going to hurt a lot down the road, despite the fact we were missing 2 starters, we dont get that pass the "big programs" get.
We will this year
Tourney is about ratings too. Don't think CBS doesn't have an influence
Posted on 11/25/15 at 9:25 am to Bonck1987
Even with Victor, any team with a good front line is going to give us nine kinds of hell.
Add to that a half-court offense that consists mostly of standing around, one pass, and a contested two or a long three--
and I'm not as optimistic as I was before this tourney that we are a Sweet Sixteen team.

Not worried should win next 7, if they drop one of the next 7 I'll be concerned.
