How would we stack up?

Reading this article on CBS sports got me thinking about how we would rate as far as our resources to contend on a national basis, if this came to be.

We are one of only 4 (I think) self sufficient athletic programs in the country. While we may not be tops on money, we are definitely in the top 10, as far as resources go.
The Ole Miss, Baylor, Miss St, Indiana, and Wash St types would be the ones in trouble IMO

I tend to agree, the ones that scare me are the Texas, Ohio St., Notre Dame type schools.

Athletic Department Revenue & Profit
LSU is one of 8 Division 1 athletic departments at public schools who were not given a dime from the school and 1 of 22 of the 228 Division I public schools that turned a profit.

I honestly don't see what the difference would be. It would be the "haves" and "have nots". Thats basically what we have now in college sports - especially football.
