from a talent standpoint, I think we actually have all the pieces to pull off comparable numbers already on the roster (note here that I'm big on Harris' potential as a QB). comparable numbers as a group from the WRs and RBs, not necessarily two 1000-yd WRs and a 1400-yd RB.

from an actual productivity standpoint, if the lightbulb comes on for one of the QBs this year and he's able to build on that next offseason, I don't think an offensive explosion in 2016 is far-fetched.

I agree with all of this. Call me homer all you like, but in 2016 you'll have

QB - Harris JR 1 year + backup experience
QB - Jennings SR 1 year + 2 year backup experience
WR - Dupre Jr 2 year experience
WR - Diarse RSJr 2 year experience
WR - Quinn Jr 2 year experience
WR - Chark Jr 1 year experience
WR - Johnson So possibly half a year experience
RB - Fournette Jr 2 years experience
RB - Guice So 1 year experience
RB - Williams Jr 2 year experience
RB - Brossette So possibly half a year experience
RB/FB - Ducre So 1 year experience
OT - Pocic 2 years + backup experience + Teuhema likely RT starter
C/LGs - Boutte/Brumfield/Clapp/Dodd - two will have 1 year experience

The offense will be extremely loaded with experience and talent. I think it will surpass 2013 without question. I'm talking over 7 yards per play, and over 40 points per game.

Yeah, if some O-linemen step up and plug the holes left by hawkins, alexander and possibly pocic the offense has the potential to be pretty prolific.

Although I have faith in Harris to carry the team, I don't think the QB situation will be any worse with Franks on board either.

That group of skill players will be

The only loss they were responsible for was the Ole Miss game where Mett kept throwing pop ups to the safeties in the 1st half. Even then they were in a position to win the game before the defense collapsed again.

All hail the 2001 season. That was an incredible time to be watching LSU football.

Had the chance to go to Bama for the record setting day. I will never forget that experience. I believe it might have even been Bama's homecoming.

Ok college football experts:

How many pro formation NCAA teams 2010-2014 had equal or better numbers?

How many 3rd and longs did Mett/OBJ/Landry bail us out on that year?

It was like an inverse 3rd&Chavis.

Yep. All we need is a rule change that will give LSU quarterbacks eight years of eligibility. Well, that and a quarterback who can actually stay out of jail for that long.

So legendary that we finished 6th or 7th in the SEC in offense. The problem was the offense was reliant on so few contributors. However, those few guys were lights out every game. It's actually sad that we couldn't do more with it, but based on the type of offense we have churned out lately, that one was pretty solid.

Ehh, we've had 3 out of 9 starting qbs under Miles arrested while at LSU.

If you look at malzahn so far as head coach at Auburn, he's 1 for 1.

With the talent LSU has that should be the standard yearl

Holy shite. So every year our starting qb should have the 2nd best passing season in lsu history, our starting RB should have the 2nd best rushing season in lsu history while setting the sec single season yards per carry record, and have 2 1000 yard receivers? Wow

Our defense gave up 500 yards of offense to Ole Miss in that game.

That's because of the scheme we run. LSU was 9th in the entire country in yards per play but we were 105th In plays ran. Total offense is skewed by the scheme and # of plays ran. Yards per play and points per play are a far better measurement of an offense ' s success because it isn't skewed by anything

we had 3 losses that year that you can make a case that the defense EASILY lost us the game

They may, It all depends on the QB play.... I am not sold that either QB will do what Mett did.... Now that doesn't mean that LSU won't be in the hunt for the NC in 2016..They will be a major player in that... BUT coming off a 11-2 type season this year instead of what I think will be an 8-5 9-4 season will help.
