How packed do you expect Alex Box to be this weekend?

I know it's opening weekend so there is a lot of anticipation, but with games against Army and Air Force what do you think it will look like?

The wife and I are making a last minute trip in with a guy from my unit and his wife(Florida fans, attempting to convert) and planning to meet up with family at the games who bought tickets separately.

Also, he's from Georgia and need a good recommendation for crawfish in Baton Rouge!

85% capacity average over the weekend.

It's baseball and it's beautiful outside.

Should be a great weekend for baseball

Better question is how early do the blue hairs leave.

The Box is usually empty by the 6th.

Must be the football fans in attendance who leave early

Aren't you guys like ranked in the top 5 in the nation? Early crowds for all Sec schools won't be as big. Always that way. It just gets crazy once conference play begins.

I am hoping Miss State gets some decent early crowds since everyone seems excited about Andy Cannizaro. Got to see him speak, that guy had a magnetic personality full of energy.

I know LSU returns a lot of great players. I think fans have learned early games are meaningless because coaches are giving some guys playing time etc to see who will turn out. I love me some college baseball , even early games. The Sec is simply the best league out there.

Yea the crowds pick up as the weather warms up for sure.

AC is a superstar. You guys enjoy him while he's there. He's a fantastic coach and recruiter

What type of team will y'all have this year? I've always wanted to catch a game at dudy noble. Looks like a blast

LSU has a pretty tough non conference schedule this year so I expect the crowds before SEC play to be larger than normal. Opening weekend against Air Force and Army, next weekend against a good Maryland team, and then a final non conference series against a Wichita State team that has a lot of good baseball tradition. If LSU meets expectations and wins their series then LSU should have a really good RPI at the end of the season. LSU has a pretty tough overall schedule this year so it should be an interesting year

It's all the old people. They must be at the football games, too. You'd think they only play 6 innings in college baseball with the way everyone streams out after the bottom of the 6th ends.

It's too early to say because of the pitching issue losing two guys on injury before the season even begins.

Andy seems to think we have some hitters/defensive players.

From what I gather, we have one guy nailed for a Friday spot. After that it's whoever with a good bullpen (something I feared) until he names a Sat and Sun starter.

We lost a ton of players to the draft on both sides. Andy seems to like our hitters and defense, he has not said much more about our pitching which does worry me.

There is one guy "Cy" who is young that he thinks might have it. We shall see.

This is the one that got me. You guys know about Mangum who led the Sec in batting? Turns out he can pitch too. Andy says 2 innings as a guy who can come in from the bullpen. This first season under Andy will be fun to watch.

He worked wonders with our hitting the last couple years, so even if you didn't have any, you will soon...

Thanks for the insight

I'll definitely be paying more attention to y'all this year since AC is there. Got someone else in the SEC to root for now

How long will it be before this board calls for the dismissal of Coach Mainieri? I heard that a lot last year, before the rally possum showed up.
