How much would it cost to buy out Alleva?

I have lurked on these boards for years but have never posted.
As upset as some are about Miles, I think even his harshest critics should agree that Joe Alleva has handled things in an embarrassing manner.
Others in the media have basically outed Alleva as the prime source for the Rabalais column. If Rabalais was a real journalist, he would have realized he was being manipulated. The real story should have been that the AD was trying to leak something like that. Given Rabalais' tendency to take cheap shots at Miles and LSU (his P.U. tweet yesterday, and many others like it this year) shows his lack of any integrity. He posted the story and then immediately set out on his own media tour to bask in the glory of being the reporter who blew things up about Miles.
I don't suppose anything should surprise me about an Advocate sports writer. After all, the best quote one of them got this year was by ambushing Tom Cruise at a urinal.
This entire thing is a mess and the real damage could be to what was shaping up to be one of the top recruiting classes we have ever had.
Alleva should have approached Miles privately and given him a mandate to make serious changes in his coaching staff and his offensive philosophy. Instead he stabbed Miles in the back with leaks to the media.
Shameful.

And what did Miles do to Alleva when he threatened to go to Arkansas? Alleva has given Miles all the opportunity in the world to win. Every coach has to leave the game sometime. I doubt many thoughtMiles would have lasted this long.

Absolutely correct! If Miles is out, so be it. The intentional leaks are unseemly, and counterproductive. Not only does Miles, as an individual, deserve better but the slow drip of the leaks is affecting the team and recruiting. Any candidates to replace Miles will surely weigh how the previous HC was treated in their final decision making.
The administration should have made Miles the first to know and, privately. Miles could then properly informed the team and removed the doubts they have about the swirling rumors & whispers. I think the whole thing was disrespectful of Miles & his accomplishments as well as a blow to the existing team and is unnecessarily hurting recruiting. Could have and should have been handled in a more reasoned, thoughtful and productive manner.
Alleva had best pull a rabbit out of his hat with a home run hire - one that can both right the ship on the field and salvage the #1 recruiting class in the nation next year. IMHO, if not, his should be the next head on the block.

Well, unless there is an unknown love child from Nick Saban and Urban Myers, it is not going to happen.........

What makes you think this didn't happen?

We've done this already. Do you even 2012? Miles hired another Michigan man in Cam so that they can get deeper into the Bo Schembechler playbook.

People keep bringing this up. First off, everyone says no one would hire Les. So this doesn't fit the narrative. Les received two raises at LSU. After 07 and after 2011. Any coach would receive a raise after playing for a national title.
This had nothing to do with Michigan or Arkansas.

Seems Alleva set this in motion with assistance contracts. Let's just hope he makes a good hire. If not, then he's running off the best coach LSU has had.

I can be bought out. A ban buyout. For a nominal fee I'll disappear.

What a terrible first post. I can't understand the premature hate on Alleva here. Get pissed at him when he makes the hire because I'm sure 95% of the people on here will hate it no matter what.
Alleva has given Miles everything possible to succeed. Highest paid coaching staff in the country. And there is no indication that the "leaks" to the media have anything to do with Alleva. The only time he has been asked about it, he said "no comment."
There are plenty of very highly ranked officials within the LSU athletic department that could have leaked info.

"What a terrible first post."
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
You honestly think Alleva didn't leak this to Rabalais? Randy Rosetta says he did, and so did Glenn Guilbeau. Chances are Alleva tried to leak to others, but they didn't take the bait. Only a hack like Rabalais would have been a willing participant in writing such a story. I only wonder if he sent a copy to Alleva first for his approval.

That's not the direction that the money flows.
