Let's just say the powers that be at ESPN that make corporate level decisions sit down and decide their network will push Bama hype ad nauseem down everyones throats as opposed to a one loss OSU team wit a better resume, how much does it influence an actual vote by AP and coaches?

And vice versa, would they have enough power to drive OSU in if they feel they wanted to push that way?

They definitely have influence but if they push too hard it may turn some voters away.

I think Bama is the 2nd best team out there but their two best wins are Arkansas and Penn State. Their main claim is that they lost to LSU in overtime. I could see some voters dropping Bama behind the 1 loss conference championship winner(s).

If Ok State beats OU it will be intersting to see what happens.

It will further spark the revolt from all the non-ESPN-affiliated voters and prove just how irrelevant ESPN really is.

College Gameday is going to be in Atlanta. Not Stillwater.

“The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses.”

In making the news, not reporting it.

After the first "Game of the Century", Holtz actually said something that hit the mark, though he didn't mean to support LSU's case I'm sure. He said (paraphrasing), Another game like that wouild be boring to everyone. The point is, the average viewer not a fan of either school does not want to see another battle of defenses, low scoring affair.

I'm thinking the average voter agrees and would like to see offense (OSU) vs. defense (LSU). I hope so.

This makes sense considering they don't want to actively promote OSU.

ESPN has a ton of power. Look at the WVU game and our ranking thereafter based almost entirely on ESPN.
