to make a head scratcher of a decision hiring the MBB head coach. I almost feel like he is going to make the most underwhelming hire ever!!

If you are expecting to be wowed by a Alleva hire you need to prepare yourself for disappointment

The only real way I'll be satisfied is if at the presser for the new BBall HC, he just up and resigns instead.

I'm expecting a very basic hire that people won't get excited about

I'm not optimistic. I expect this to be an underwhelming hire, the least expensive HC that Alleva can get away with, that will keep the program clean and produce middle of the pack results.

I doubt Alleva will get us someone who we will all react to by saying "awesome."

It's likely to be underwhelming but not a head scratcher.

Kermit, Stansbury, someone at that level.

LSU fans are known to have the virus called "Catastrophe Syndrome" so probably 85 to 90 percent of ya'll.

I expect we'll hear some reports of Alleva reaching out to some notable guys (Mike Brey, Chris Collins, MAYBE Buzz Williams or Steve Prohm), but I fully expect the hire will be either Kermit Davis or Eric Musselman.

Davis would be an underwhelming hire that, while definitely pushing the program forward from a 2-16 SEC season, ultimately won't make LSU any sort of championship contender

Musselman would be a good short term hire that makes the program much better than it is now, but who won't stay around too long.

Watch to see who loses this week (i.e. Nevada, Iowa St., MTSU, Northwestern, Va. Tech, etc.) because I think Alleva will rush the hire so as not to get into a dreaded "bidding war".

No.

This is called having a basic understanding of a subject they should still teach in all schools, called "History."

Alleva has made 2 shitty BB hires. So, I expect history to repeat itself until the school decides to rid itself of this imbecile leading the AD.

Joe will settle. Don't expect Donovan, Bill Self , or Brad Stevens to walk through that door.

What else would he do? It's the Joe Alleva way.

Hard to expect much different from Alleva by now. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

Considering he gets all pissed off and doesn't know how to negotiate anything, he just wants everybody to say, "Yeah I'll come." I'm going to go ahead say it'll be laughable string of events once the tournament starts to end.

I've tried to give him the benefit of the doubt over each frick up he's made, but the guy is just a disaster. All he did at Duke was sign coach K extensions. At LSU, you have to run 3 major sports people care about.

well, we are not gonna drop a ton of cash on some elite coach, so yeah, I would expect a pretty mediocre hire...I am not really sure why we continue to talk about this.

seems to me like the best that can happen would be for us to hire someone that is not well known but turns out to be an overachiever.

Just watching him in his press conferences he does not seem to be able to think on his feet very well, a trait I can't help but think would come in handy in wooing coaching prospects.

Best case we have someone who for whatever reason really wants this job and who coincidentally is a rising start who we fall arse backward into getting, like Beth Torina in softball.
