I'm still not sold on that either...IMO the Fiesta will indeed take undefeated Notre Dame, hence sending either OU/SEC to the Rose Bowl to play the Big10.

I don't really like that scenario tho because I think the Rose would be very attracted to an OU-Nebraska Rose Bowl. I guess then we're back to the same discussion...LSU or A&M vs Notre Dame in Fiesta.

LSU does not have as much national appeal as you think.

We were in the highest rated football game of the season for two straight years. We get boffo TV ratings and our fans travel. I think you're selling LSU's national appeal far short. We're the big boys now. LSU is one of the most popular teams in the country now.

They may take the "bigger name" as you put it, but if you want a more entertaining show, unfortunately, there's no contest...Johnny Football delivers that.

If it is the Fiesta they go, if it is The Sugar LSU.

About as likely as we lose to Ole Miss at home or Arkansas on the road the next 2 weeks.

So really, slim to none.

yep, its all about ratings and viewership. Johnny Football is the most exciting player in the nation right now and is on every bowl executives wish list. All things equal, this guy will get the bid.

which is exactly why the Sugar Bowl took RGIII and Baylor over Virginia Tech last year.

If only things were equal. We own head to head, BCS ranking, and didn't almost lose to LA Tech. They lose their two games at home also.

I'm concerned we jump ourselves and let Ole miss beat us. We're due for a let down against them.

it is no coincidence Jerry Jones kept taking LSU and Bama for the Kickoff classics, we travel, we eat , we drink and they know it.
The Rose I am not so sure the west coast folks can handle a bunch of south Louisiana boys running rough shot over USC.

The "BCS" doesn't take anyone. The Fiesta or Rose Bowls do and they care about selling tickets and TV ratings not who beat who or taking #5 over #7 or whatever.

Very true and IF it came to that --- aTm would be the selection - for exactly those reasons: Money and TV ratings

As far as money --- aTm's fan base is huge compared to LSU's --- 50K students vs. 25K -- over a long period of time = much larger fan base.

Secondly, aTm is "big bowl starved" and would travel to a BCS bowl in unprecedented numbers = $ windfall for BCS bowl site.

Potential Heisman candidate "Johnny Football" brings in the national TV audience to see this kid taking the College Football world by storm.

While LSU travels well.... in this scenario, I think aTm is the clear winner and would be the bowl's choice hands down.

Overrated "Johnny Football" gained about 40 yards against the LSU defense. He is a school child when on the same field as us. Why would they pick a team like A&M with one, overrated kid?

Saying this is stupid. That is complete opinion and your vote means absolutely nothing. You have absolutely no clue who the bowl would pick. aTm was ranked 15 until they beat Bama the other day and now some of you are acting like they are the best team in the universe and every BCS bowl is going to be fighting to get them.

there are three weeks of football left to be played...

A&M fans aren't accustomed to the unpredictibility of college football...

remember 2006, where we were locked and loaded to play Michigan in the Rose and UCLA beats USC...

Aggies, there's a whole lot that can happen so just hold on to your montana peak stetsons....

Nah brah... I know I don't get a vote... but it's not stupid at all my man.

Bowl games are about excitement and bringing in MONEY..... I'm all for LSU man, trust me.

But LSU's fans (or many of them) seem to have the BCSCG or bust mentality ... therefore it's questionable if LSU would "travel" to a non-Championship BCS bowl in the numbers that aTm fans would.

The safe bet for the Bowl is aTm because there is NO DOUBT they would bring huge numbers of fans.

We beat them head to head at their place... but that really doesn't factor into the bowl committee's decision at the end of the season.

If things ended today we are #7 and they are #8 -- if it ends with us 1 spot apart... I'm confident the bowl committee would choose them. Yes this is MY OPINION ... it's as valid as anyone's.

.

When WAFB announced LSU was going to the ROse in 2006, we had like 40,000 seat requests the same instant.

LSU will sell out whatever venue we go to, and every bowl person knows this. We travel well everywhere. See Dallas last year. Georgia against UNC in 2010. All of our bowl games. We will sell the full allotment of tickets to the Rose or the Fiesta bowl the same day they announce we are going. aTm might sell out as well.
