How far does the Rant think LSU will go in tourney?

I have us losing to L'Ville in a close one we match up pretty well with them though. Harrell vs Jarell

It depends which team shows up
If they play up to their potential they can go to Sweet Sixteen or Elite 8

In my bracket I put them losing to Louisville in the sweet sixteen. But that I could easily see them losing round 1 or go all the way to the elite 8

My opinion is that they go out in the second round. NC State is a pretty good team but they've been almost as unpredictable as LSU this season. They've beat some teams that they shouldn't have and lost to some others that they should have dominated. NC State has taken some really good teams down to the wire this year and then lost to teams like Clemson. I could see it being a blowout for either team honestly. It just depends on if one or the other doesn't show up. If both teams show up and play their best games then it'll be a tightly contested game.
Villanova is a damn good basketball team and I just don't see LSU playing enough mistake free basketball to beat them. LSU should have beat Kentucky and they basically gave it away at the end. They have the ability to beat Villanova but I just don't know if they can get it done in the end. With that said, if they do get past Villanova then they have a decent shot at the elite 8 and the final 4.

Hope they do well, but I really don't see a reason besides blind fandom that would make people have them going past the 2nd round.

My NC State boss just told me he picked LSU in the first game. Said NC State's best player probably won't play. Injured in the ACC tourney. I told him I like our chances since we're good against good team. If we had fallen to the NIT we would have been one and done.

decent shot at Final Four? Wow, the blind homers are out in force today.
I think we can beat NC State, but anything more than that's going to be low odds. We seem to play well against the good teams, but putting together multiple good games against quality opponents is just something I don't think we can do, based on what I saw this season.
I hope I'm wrong, but I see a 2nd round loss.

Ours is a streaky team. When they are focused and cool they can go toe to toe with anyone. When they are disorganized, they struggle. They are very hard to predict. However, what I like is that they do realistically have the potential to advance deep into the tournament.

I just got done saying that if they somehow get past Villanova they have a decent shot at advancing to the Elite 8 and Final 4. I never said I thought they would. What I said was I think LSU goes out in the second round because I don't think we can beat Villanova. If you knock out the 1 seed in the regional then you do have a decent shot at advancing the the elite 8 and a shot at the final 4. Maybe you should have read the rest of my post.

You mean Barber? I thought I read he was cleared to play. Still may be shaken up, though.
To answer the OP, if we can get by State (and Peej has already predicted a State win), we have a great shot at knocking off Villanova in the second round, especially with how we play against good teams. I'm actually hoping Villanova beats Lafayette for just that reason. I'll be a bit of a homer and say we make a Sweet 16 run.

Your boss doesn't know anything about NC state basketball then. Multiple things wrong here
