Backup QB's that are upperclassmen don't get redshirts.

He took a few snaps and handed the ball away against the eastern portion of Michigan if memory serves.

Redshirting QBs, especially backup QBs, is not good for recruiting.

and playing him in 10 or fewer plays all year at the end of games just to hand off is somehow a game changer?

Dude. LSU is not going to waste a redshirt on a terrible QB. Did you want your question answered or someone to talk to?

Good question, glad you asked it. Why not NOT have him play those 10 plays and save a year of eligibility?

well with our QB recruiting issues, we may need it

we may be looking at RS Solph McMillan and some true freshman on our roster in 2017

That's when you work on transfers. Which they have.

Do you realize there isn't a "quota" on what you are allowed per year. It is an individual thing. If a guy hasn't redshirted before and didn't play then you could/should redshirt so he has another year to play if he want's to stay past four years. What if Harris leaves early and he could be a 5th year senior starter.

I don't see Harris leaving next year. However, Jennings can probably get an extra year despite the fact he took a few snaps. The rule says no, but is not applied letter of the law.

You apparently think you know it all...you don't though. Nothing wrong with having him around for insurance.
