Because the committee wanted to give us easy opponents.

NCAA Committee b crazy.

LSU is ranked #1 in the Coaches' poll & Collegiate Baseball so far today. NCBWA is still to come.

Aaron Fitt is once again a thugPOS though, cuz BA ranked LSU #2.

Who cares? We have an easy regional and a fairly easy super. No excuse but Omaha this year for LSU.

The field isn't a ranking first of all. They consider match ups and region as well to determine seeding.

It's bullshite, yet this gives the team another reason to prove something. As minor of a detail as this is, I hope they take this personal.

Can we require people to at least make an attempt to understand college baseball before posting stupid shite?

A few different things come into play, such as regular conference play (not just winning the tourney), RPI or strength of schedule, etc. I think it's dumb too though. Works out because we should 100% make it to Omaha

They do not consider matchups and regions when seeding 1-8

Honestly it works out better. We're still on opposite sides ofthe bracket with Vandy and gives our players a little extra incentive to prove themselves and not rest on their tourney championship.

I know it doesnt matter, but if we were borderline on hosting it would matter.

We should be the #1 seed. They should get it rt regardless.

Because RPI and non conf schedule carry a lot of weight. Even tournament was weighted less.
It's why LSU needs to schedule one non conf series per year on road but LSU will settle for a 4 seed rather than give up that home gate. They play Minute Maid in 2015 and that should help non conference.

I know they say they take this into consideration but then they pair the Oregon regional with the NC State regional? Sorry but the dumb asses who rank and seed the baseball tournament consistently show they are incompetent. I honestly think they throw darts at the wall blind folded and drunk. But that's just me!!!

They look at match ups. They consider who they want on each side of the bracket. 1,4,5,8 have the potential to play each other, and same for 2,3,6,7. When you have multiple teams from the same conference in the top 8, the committee usually pairs them. The SEC has run into this many times especially since the LSU-Alabama final. This year didn't work out that way because of the multiple teams from the ACC and Pac-12.

In the conferance, we played the west half, Vandy played the weak east, then we beat Vandy on a neutral field. We have a better record. DUH!

Before anyone goes off on me, I am NOT defending the committee. I hate the process. I hate RPI. I hate that a team like A&M can get a 2 seed just because they have pull this year. I just don't think people need to confuse this with an actual ranking.

I would like to be seeded #1, just to have it, but the path to Omaha doesn't get a lot better. Regional looks very managable and no Rice in the super.

Doesn't matter, Dad of Grads...they had one less loss (I believe) than us and until we beat them yesterday, they had more total wins. I disagree with the process as well, but it is what it is.
