In most of the emails I received Saturday night and Sunday, Tiger fans expressed that changes should be made on the coaching staff. Most of my readers want to see Offensive Coordinator Gary Crowton replaced and a large number of fans believe that it is time to replace Les Miles. Personally, I believe that Gary Crowton will be replaced for the good of the program and to settle down unhappy Tiger fans, but that is only my speculation. If this is the case, I would like to see Les Miles hire a bright, young offensive coordinator with head coaching potential and place him on the sideline next to him to help make game decisions (such as calling timeouts) and help with play calling, much like Bobby Bowden's (FSU) hiring of Jimbo Fisher and Mack Brown's (Texas) hiring of Will Muschamp.

If he hires a very good sideline OC do we pull out 11 regular season wins??

Two problems with this scenario:

1. If Miles does indeed sit on his OC and dictate play calling, it will be hard to get somebody. I don't know if he does or not, the rumors go both ways.

2. Miles is a long way from retirement age, so I doubt that happens.

I do think the "sideline coordinator" will help tremendously.

It is from Dandy Dons blog... I think he is on the right track with this... Get an OC that is in LM hip pocket where they can converse with each other on the sideline.

It seems like a very long shot at best for Miles to hire a great young OC to replace Crowton in light of the thin ice he is now on at LSU... Put another way what great mind with options would intentionally sign up with Miles for a potential one and done?

Odds seem overwhelming IMO that Crowton stays through next year and we all have to cross our fingers that the team improves dramatically

I'd have zero problems with Will Muschamp.

I

f Miles hadn't put himself in hot water with the bonehead end of game stuff against Ole Miss I would agree (or at least not disagree)

But considering Miles' job is in serious jeopardy now it just got much harder for him to find a serious replacement for GC

If someone else is on the sideline coaching I would rather him be the HC. I don't think Les Miles is worth 4 million to recruit and motivate if that is what we are wanting to regulate him to.

Chavis also is a long time coordinator that was standing on the sideline that I guess didn't help at all with game management.
