it still makes me smile to see the Kentucky fans celebrating on the field with Henderson running by them to score.

Hell yeah! I stood up pissed off and ready to walk out of the room, but something told me to wait a minute. Ever since I watched the Ervin Johnson led UNO team beat Arkansas-little rock with a half court shot at the buzzer in the tournament I stick around till the last whistle blows. The look on the Kentucky fans faces were priceless.

Any replay of that game that doesn't include Jim Hawthorne going batshit crazy and yelling "JACK HUNT" who was a white Defensive Back and would have had no buisness being on the field instead of Devrey Henderson, a black WR isn't worth watching.

That said, this play is awesome.

Hawthorne's line after was great "Fans are on the goal posts. I don't know why."

My good friend and I were playing golf at Kiva Dunes in Gulf Shores. We had a radio in the cart so we could listen to the game.

We turned the radio off in disgust and missed the end of the game. After we finished playing and were loading our clubs into the car, a man in an Auburn shirt saw my LSU cap and asked "How about that LSU game?" We did not reply since we thought he was being a dick.

We did not find out that LSU pulled off the miracle until we went into the clubhouse and everyone was talking about it. We really couldn't believe it until they showed the replay on ESPN.

We were so happy we bought everyone in the clubhouse a round of drinks.

was living in cali.....was going to watch this game and then call my folks like i did after every lsu game i watch, this time, i was going to tell them that i was going to be getting divorced.

THEN that play happened, and my phone immediately rang. it, of course, was the parentals....needless to say i broke my good news to them later in the week. could never ruin a great lsu moment like that.

Why the need to edit the audio to detardify Jim Hawthorne?

They missed a golden opportunity to ask Jack Hunt how he felt about Hawthorne's call since I am sure he heard it 100 times.

I was actually at that game!

Little discussed fact is that our fans stormed their field after that play!

The wall that separates the stands from the field was too high for people to climb back out of so their fans had to climb the stairs used by the band leaders to get out, one at a time. They all had to watch us celebrate on their field while they sulked out of the stadium!

Jack Hunt moved from WR to DB. IIRC, he was like the #4 or #5 receiver in '02. And he was #8, which looks very similar to #9 on the jersey.
