I have absolutely no sources, but I heard from a guy who does. He said the Jimbo deal was all but done until Jimbo started waffling. LSU gave him a deadline Saturday... Not sure what time, but Jimbo was still waffling and LSU said it was time to move on.
The same guy said USC had inquired about Miles' interest on Friday, but was told he wanted to stay at LSU if retained.
Just a guy I know who always was ahead of the curve. He never mentioned Alexander as a factor or the buyout. Just Jimbo was waffling and they couldn't wait any longer.

I said it the night they said Les is staying. I wondered if the entire deal was to let LSU and Les Miles look better by letting him appear to go out on his own terms. Les has always let his assistants that are getting fired go find another job before they are let go, maybe its same courtesy. NOTHING would shock me at this point!

Because so many claim to have "sources" who don't. I never did have a source. Just a friend who tracked it all and seemed to be a step ahead all along. He's a reporter and felt he couldn't provide his source.
That's all I know. Sorry if this doesn't satisfy you. If you knew what was going on behind the scenes, you would have posted it. You didn't know anything. Neither did I. Just relying on information from a friend who evidently did know.

Exactly, no major college would come calling for Les' services. If they did, then they are foolish.
I could see him coaching in a mid-major type conference, if anywhere.
The word has been out, he's not a very good coach.
