When is it time to make a change at catcher. Ross has given his all but just can't hit. Do we have anyone else.

Offense is not the number one priority for a catcher.

No one that plays anywhere close to the defense he does behind the plate. And that is way more important than his average.

I think if anything they would DH him. He's to strong behind the plate to take out the game. My opinion.

this is like complaining about a 1,200 yard running back that is below average at catching passes out of the backfield

Not every catcher on our roster can be like Micah Gibbs.

It does when you are throwing out 50% (or near it) of the runners that try to steal on you.

ETA In other words he makes up for his offensive woes by severly limiting the offensive options of the other team.

Yes it will.

He will stay in the lineup because of his defense and his ability to handle the pitching staff. That is infinitely more valuable to the team than a catcher's offense.

unbelievable how fans of a 22-2 team can find something to complain about.

WTF???

So you think they are going to let the pitchers hit? This might be one of the best comments I have seen on here in a long time.

To be fair, there are some things to complain about. Ty Ross is not one of them, however.

We going to do this since we have so much confidence in Eades, Nola, Glenn, and Cotton's hitting abilities ....coupled that with the fact that they have never hit against SEC pitching that I know of .
