Hit 'em Again!... Hit 'em Again!... Harder!... Harder!

I've seen two people in my life do this chant at an LSU game, some crazy old man in the North end zone at the Towson game last year and my father.
Was this a real chant old timers?
Where did it go?

Yes that was a chant at least 25 years ago...I remember it.
And...
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...H-O-L-D hold that line just called and wants in as well.

It was certainly a High School staple chant back in the fifties.
Don't recall if it was used at Tiger Stadium or not, though.

The cheerleaders still call both of those chants. Het 'em again of course after a big hit, and hold that line on a defensive 3rd down... but now the band plays that horrid funeral music on third downs

I remember in junior high a friend of mine told me they learned this cheer from an old man sitting by them at the LSU/Ole Miss game....
