from this past weekend. Hope he gets one more shot at the NFL...doesn't sound like he will have any regrets if it doesn't happen though. Appears to have a "want" to get into broadcasting...maybe he can bump one of the Bama Gumps off the SEC network and join Spears. LINK

His inspiring play during the 2007 season was some of the best football played by an LSU player ever.

Kids just got a high motor and passion for the game

He's not the most athletic, but he makes up for it with heart

He's so smart, he's like an extension of the coach out there

There, any good white athlete cliches I miss?

Thing is he has all those cliche things, which are real btw, but he is also extremely athletic and legitimately fast. He's more of a power running back than a true fullback though - I think of him as a Jason Snelling type player.

I'm sure you'd take a bullet for Addai and Ridley too, right? Right?

Overachiever. Gritty. What he does doesn't necessarily show up on the stat sheet. Does all the little things. Does the things that help a football team win. Deceptive speed.

It's hyperbole and who cares anyway. 2007 was a pretty magical and yes lucky season and Hester was a very important part of that. And his play against Florida will be remembered by a lot of LSU fans for as long as they live.

His brother does American outlaws in Shreveport. I saw him at Rotolos. Jacob Hester was there for the Belgium USA game yesterday decked out in red white and blue. He told me is done with NFL and is opening training facility in town. Great Tiger one of 5th nicest guys you will ever run into.
