check it out on LSUSPORTS.NET. At about the 09:10 mark he makes some interesting comments about Hatch. Surprised he said that....kinda would rather keep that stuff in house.

Basically was saying how nervous the QB's get and how sometimes Hatch doesnt give them the whole play in the huddle....im paraphrasing.

Well, if the offense doesn't know what play they're running, just think how confused this makes the defense!

Did they ask him how he cured his false start problems during his first couple of years?

No, they didnt but I dont think he meant any harm in his comments. Tough for these guys to answer those questions and not slip up every now and again. Not that this was a HUGE slip up, but Im sure Hatch would have prefered that information not be made public.

i think it is more devastating to the "hatch should start" crowd

it destroys the biggest aspect of their argument

I'm pretty sure his comments weren't limited to Hatch. In fact, I think they were more directed at Lee, because he talked about overthrowing balls and sitting down with him at halftime and telling him to calm down.

I would have to agree with you there. I thought Hatch's shortcomings were mostly physical in nature, but this was surprising...probably doesnt mean much and Im sure it doesnt happen all the time, but it just struck me as something better left in house when Big Herm said it.

I agree it should have been left unsaid. But I think he was talking more about Lee.

Overall, I thought his comments were pretty savvy. And you could see the humor lurking just below the surface. Pretty smart guy.

True, his comments werent limited to Hatch, but the stuff about Lee wasnt surprising to me, at least, but he specifically says Hatch sometimes doesnt get them the whole play in the huddle...he didnt make THAT comment about Lee.

OK how do the comments start off limited to Hatch and go all the way to being limited to Lee?

If you have time, watch the interview. Big Herm, specifically names each QB as he talks about them....he talks about calming LEE down during the half and he mentioned HATCH not getting the offense the entire play in the huddle. He talks about both QB's individually and together as a position.

He should ask the FL DC what the play is. FL seemed to know exactly what we were about to run.

Herm might be in for an arse-whippin once Hatch finds out about this.

He was very matter of fact in this interview. He doesn't expect these first year QBs to be near as perfect as it appears some of our fans do. It is amusing.
