If he leaves before 2018. I know we can pay it but it is a steep considering.

Lol. That's bubble gum money. They could get that with two phone calls.

If we don't, someone else will. I say there's less than a 10% chance he's the head coach at Houston starting next season.

IF Tom Herman were to say "Yes..I will take the LSU HC job. But, I have a 2.25 M buyout"

And, LSU says "No deal!"

I will literally MURDER someone

That's not that much for LSU'S big time donors. Plus LSU would make that back very quickly in not even the time it takes to play one home football game.

With this administration its the perception of spending the money. I said in my OP i know we have the money. We had the money for Miles and staff buyout last year and how did that workout?

2.25 million is not steep for a buyout. We'd pay that in a second.

Houston already doubled his pay and said tgat was only the beginning as they want to keep him there for a long time. Id imagine any new big contract would make that buyout number jump considerably

Probably right. But consider this, UH gets in Big 12 so there in to a playoff spot, he is recruiting the shite out of Houston with two nice classes in the bank and more coming, UH has tons of money coming from the O and G business, they can pay top dollar to keep the guy.

Not as steep as what LSU has to pay to get rid of Les.
