CPM follows Skip's tradition in that he ALWAYS has LSU play in the early game when BR hosts a regional so they can have the most rest possible before whatever game they play on Saturday (usually the 7:00 PM "marble game" as JH calls it)

Just a FYI...it isn't "always", but nearly every-time. I suspect we played the night game in 2012 for two reasons: an in-state team at the 4-seed allowing their family/fans to drive in that afternoon, and forcing a west coast team to play in hot environment...trying to send them to Losers bracket.

2012 we played ULM at night on Friday...

Since it's rained everyday now for about 2 weeks, LSU plays that first game because with rain you don't want to be sitting there waiting to play at 7 and pushed back to midnight, than have to come back the next day or potentially having to play 2 on sat instead of 1

I RA'd for using logic, that's not allowed on the rant.

It also puts more butts in the seats overall. If LSU played at 6 am it would still be a full house. This way more people will be able to go to the lesser-drawing game because they don't have to miss work. (And this year, it gives a chance for more Tulane fans to make their game.)

I don't think this is correct. I can remember a number times that LSU played the night game on Friday.

If by number of times you mean once... yes.

Are you talking just since the Regional/Super Regional format was introduced in 1999? I seem to remember a few times in the old format when Skip would pick the night game. Maybe my memory is failing me though.

Doesn't matter. The Box will still be overwhelmingly pro-Seahawk.

LSU played the late Friday game almost exclusively in the '90's and early 2000's.
