All hand wringing about team accomplishments and other metrics aside, considering what the Heisman is supposed to be about, which is an award that should go to the best collegiate athlete in the nation, how do you think Henry ranks all time versus all previous winners?

I think it's debatable that he's in the bottom five. To my eyes, he's been about the 4th best Alabama running back since Saban has been the coach.

I don't get it? I was for sure thinking it would be Watson or McCaffrey. McCaffrey did just about everything for his team. Rushing 1850 yards 8 TDs, receiving 540 yards 4 TDs, passing 2/3 39 yards 2 TDs, kick return 28.94 avg (1042 yards) 1 TD. The ONLY reason he doesn't have more rushing TDs is because Shaw decided he wanted to use his senior RB as the goal line back. Basically the senior became a TD vulture (for the guys who know about fantasy football).

Watson was a QB, with the typical QB numbers #s (69.5 % 8.5 ypa 3515 pass yards 30 TDs 890 rush yards 5.4 ypc 11 TDs), and led Clemson to it's first undefeated season since 1981. As a matter of fact, the last time they only lost one game in a season was 1983.

Henry's numbers aren't far better than Tre Mason in 2013 at this point.
Mason - 1621 rush yards 21 TDs 5.73 ypc, 121 receiving yards, 26.33 avg KR 1 TD
Henry - 1986 rush yards 23 TDs 5.86 ypc, 97 receiving

Look at the 2013 heisman voting
- Winston was incredible that year but statistically Watson stacks up the same. Watson lead his team to a 13-0 record like Winston lead his team to a 13-0 record (pre heisman announcement people). Did the same thing in the same division. Winston had an overwhelming win over the 2nd place finisher who was freaking AJ McCarron? Which brings me to my next point.

- How the hell did AJ's season deserve heisman consideration, let alone 2nd place, yet they left off Baker Mayfield this year? McCarron had some really good numbers, but they weren't much better than Matt Mauck's in 2003. How much heisman consideration did Mauck get?

- Tre Mason finished 6th in voting and he had better numbers than Mark Ingram did when they announced the crap.

OK which brings me to why Mark Ingram won it over Gerhart or McCoy.

The bias is freaking real!

Henry winning the Heisman is a team award, great back but a great offensive line.

Take Cook, Fournette, Chubb, and a few others and they all get 1800 yards or better on that team.

One thing Henry did not do is face the Alabama defense line this year and have a game where getting 50 yards would have been difficult.

One point to make about the Heisman is how valuable the player is to the team and if you take Henry off the team Alabama finishes the season 12-1 and is in the BCS championship game. No argument
