Having the 2007 team at the game was a sharp move

As I posted before the game, this team wasn't going to let themselves get shown up before the 2007 Championship team. Orgeron, Aranda and Canada likewise were going to be highly motivated not to lose in front of the predecessor coach.

It all worked out well.

I think we can win out with the exception of Alabama.

Loved the sideline support the guys were getting. I know it helped.

I am pretty sure it had been planned for a while.

Coaches were [professional and no egos got in the way...

I think it definitely helped, how much, who knows.

Serious question, why don't we have/ invite more former players to the sidelines?

Seems logical that it would bring more energy to the sidelines. Recruits could/ would also see all these former players and NFLers. Having that swag and talent around should only help the players, atmosphere, etc. Its also marketing at its core.

Some are walking down the hill with the team - they should just stay with the team and head to the sidelines.

Point of note: former players from other schools should never be allowed on the sidelines. I seem to have seen more of this over the years. LSU should never allow this to happen.

Really all of this is common sense. Just like the pipe in music, band, audio issues thread a few weeks ago.

P.S. Get with my agent LSU - I will give you a home town discount.

I really don't know what happened because the team was flat, the stadium was flat, it was hot as hell and felt like it was just about over 15 minutes into the game in front of the 2007 team. Gage gave us hope, the D stopped giving up 7-8 yards on 1st down and then everything fell into place including Tiger Stadium rocking for the last quarter. The halftime tribute and the players got the place fired up and ready to go in the 2nd half.

It was huge, and having them there where the recruits could see them and likely have some type of conversation, etc with them is money! GREAT game, GREAT win all around.
