I was talking with my buddy yesterday and one thing I realized is the last time that we beat bama was the last year we had a bye before the game (2 weeks to prepare) and they didn't. Plain and simple, Les's offensive scheme is so simple that when teams get more than one week to prepare for it they shut it down. See any bowl games from 2011 until now, we have struggled with all of them. Arkansas shut us out last year after having two weeks to prepare for us. That is a clear sign of simply being out coached.

I know im going to get bashed for this but its the truth.

Not gonna get bashed by me. I think you're 100% correct. Been saying this for years.

if its so simple shouldn't they be able to prepare for it in only a week?

Then it is guaranteed that Ole Miss will beat us. Gonna put the house down on that game then.

I would say move our bye week. I think that it hurts our rhythm and momentum going into this game.

I truly believe that if Alabama didn't have a bye the game would have been a lot closer.

Alabama was on the ropes. Bye weeks give you a fresh start.

I do agree that it may give the team either too much time to think about it or that time is not being used wisely to prepare for it. IMO, the QB, WRs, DBs, & LBs should have been doing 7-on-7 drills while the coaches were on the recruiting trail and the offensive and d-lines should have been working together to stay sharp rather than waiting for a scheduled practice. My understanding was they practiced twice the first week and that time was really needed to prepare for this game especially since the walk-through would be pushed up because they had to travel. And I still don't know how effective "mental reps" are in anything.

I actually think we'd benefit more from having our bye after Bama. I don't really understand the thought on having it the week before. You know it's going to the most physical game of the year and will be beat up afterwards regardless whether you win or lose. And having to go right into another game with the weighing on the team especially after a loss never seems to work out well.
I also think you can have too much time to just sit and stew over Alabama. We news to start treating it like any other game instead of this monster we can't overcome.

Would you move it to after BAMA?

Very sad that we are running Les's scheme, and not Cameron's. I know Cam got fired from the NFL, but you think he would have lasted that long running the shite we see every Saturday. His offenses in SD looked nothing like what we see continuously.

I've said basically the same thing. It also puts added pressure on our team. I'm not saying it's the reason we lost but we need to change the bye week.

Absolutely, it's a tough hard fought physical game. So that would give you time to rest up and finish out. It also keeps the teams rhythm and momentum going into the the game

Hey guess what, you're wrong.

Alabama had byes before our wins in 2011 AND 2010.

So did A&M in 2014 and 2013, and MSU in 2013, all of which we won. I didn't look any further back than that but I'm sure there are more.

Your whole thread is fricking dumb.

The fricking rant is the worst

They also may think that the scheme he ran there is to complicated to run in college. I was told (from inside the coaching staff in 2008) that every week Les has each coordinator come up with their game plans and turns it into Les, he then goes through it and picks the stuff that he likes and doesn't like for his team to run on game day. Take it for what its worth but that could be why no matter who's the coordinator the outcome always looks the same.

I have no problem with this being the case, but it looks like he only keeps the same plays every week

You honestly believe that Saban needs two week to prepared for a coach that will try and run it up the gut all game long?
